Expect dramatic changes in the strategy and tactics that are currently deployed in Iraq. Given almost two years until the next election, this move might actually convincingly win the war in Iraq as well as win Washington back for the Republicans.

He was the CG of the 101st during OIF 1. He has been advocating small unit operations (squad sized presence patrols) to take place at all times in all neighborhoods of the major Iraqi cities.

Casey and Abizad have been vocally against small unit operations. They believe it will increase actions against U.S. Soldiers and Marines. I agree. However, it will reduce the acts of violence between militias.
