Not long ago a conversation was started about the “greatest of all time” (GOAT) in regards to Manning , Brady, etc. If you watched the game last night, you saw just how good Belichick coaches games. Unlike Manning’s coaching experiences, Brady has had this guy in his corner for 16+ years. But did you notice the calm, cool nature of what happened in the last 30 seconds or so? New England was backed up on its own 1 yard line and there was a real fear that Brady would get tackeled in the end-zone for a safety. Belichick knew Seattle’s greatest defensive strength was aggressiveness and used it to their demise. He got an encroachment penalty against Seattle thereby giving Brady room to take a knee and end the game. That is true coaching genius. Most would have just had Brady put his head down and try to plow ahead exposing him to a TFL in the end zone or worse a fumble.

Belichick is in “rare air” in the coaching circles having won 4 Super Bowls. I don’t like him, hate his disrespect for the traditions of football, cheats (and is accused indirectly of it again) and wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him,… but he wins. Imagine if Peyton had a coach as savvy as Belichick.

Number 1 pick vs. an eighth rounder - yeah...coaching makes a huge difference even in the pros.

I consider Brady and Manning to be on about the same skill level. That being said, I think if Manning traded places with Brady he would have the same results as Brady has had. If you switched Brady with Manning, I think Brady would have the results Peyton had had.

Long response to say that Brady has had a better coach for his entire career. I'm not knocking either one as I believe one is not that much better than the other

Bills a great coach. I know most on herr will be bias towards Peyton but I don't think its debatable anymore that Brady is superior to Peyton.

Hypotheticals are kinda fun, but ultimately meaningless. This universe will never see Peyton Manning except as we have seen him. And I'm absolutely good with that. He long ago joined Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana on my personal list of the best QBs in the history of the NFL. He occupies this hallowed ground as much for his character and humanity as for his QBing talents.

No, I wouldn't want Peyton's career to be tarnished with the likes of Coach Belichick. I like him just the way he is.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you, but I hate the whole he is better because he has more rings. He may be better but not by a large margin.

Peyton just struggles to win the big games. Peyton may be a slightly bettet regular season QB, just slightly, but come playoff time it isnt debatable. Peyton has been to 3 superbowls, 1-2, Brady has been to 6, 3-3. Both are top 5 though of all time

Brady is 4-2 in the Super Bowl.

There's no doubt coaching plays a HUGE role. Look at all the money Denver shelled out on defense this offseason and where did it get them? They were arguably WORSE.

There's a lot to be said for playing cohesively as a unit and being well-coached. Denver's defense (and to an extent some of their WRs) play as mercenaries.

The LA Kings have a motto: "Nobody has to be great, but everyone has to be good."
