Peyton Manning remembers beating Alabama in 1995

Peyton is truly a VOL treasure… so thankful he chose to give his All for Tennessee.

While there was still speculation about guest pickers, watched a Condrege interview around the time the Color Orange came out. While it was awesome (along with the story) and believe he’d be an outstanding representative for us on Gameday, not sure if he’d be too interested in doing it solo (from what I saw and have read, he’s very reserved and not really interested in getting attention for himself). Hoping at least he will get some recognition this weekend during Gameday since we’ll have arguably our most well-known former athlete (and a very funny guy). Give us another great show Peyton - Go VOLS!

Wow listening to manning talk about the 95 game makes me wish that he would do a manning cast for the bama game or any vol game this year

If we win Saturday We will have a legit shot at the playoffs. This is starting to feel like a dream. We were a dead program just 21 months ago and poof just like that Heup has not only brought us back from the grave. He has us playing on an elite level. This feels so damn good Nation.

GBO

I grew up in a TN home with my dad watching games on TV while listening listening to John Ward. I remember the 85 Sugar Bowl being a big deal and everyone talking about it.

But that was the game that truly made me a fan that started paying attention every week.

Amazing play, but wasn’t even best in that game. The goal line bootleg was one of the best play calls given who we and Peyton were and it made bama look like a sorry bunch of bafoons. It was putting a fork in it before the first quarter was over. Just beautiful.
And the Jay Graham run.

Here is the full interview. Peyton actually addresses around the 10 min mark the supposed manning curse.

Great game! That first pass to Joey Kent set the table and the best part it was in their stadium. I hope we get some home cooking tomorrow. A few well timed turnovers for TDs by Vols would be awesome.
