Peyton wins Payton

I'm trying to be a good member of Volnation here, Let's just say we had some folks still think he's an OK guy.

He's all Vol Jake. Just remember those days and use that terrible towel to block out any NFL memories you'd rather forget. :D

LOL...you know, it's funny you say that....i have a room in my house that is a designate sports room. One side is all Steelers and the other is all Vol. on the wall on the Vol side are two framed news paper articles, one the front page of the News Sentinal the day after we beat Bama in 95, big picture of Peyton on it throwing that pass to Joey Kent. the other one is the Sunday paper showing Peyton leading the band after we beat Auburn in the SEC CG in 97. both were front and center while watching the Indy/Steeler games this year.

My wife, who is from Pit, and could care less about Peyton, was screaming at me because i wouldn't root for Peyton to get hurt! I had to remind her to look up at the wall as a reason why not.

If they had beaten the Steelers, i would have rooted for them no doubt.

I have the same picture on my wall. I also have the front page of the Daily Beacon from the first day it was published after winning the NC.

I have yet to find a UT fan who can cheer for their NFL team and cheer against Peyton. I think that speaks volumes about how Vol fans feel about him. I also feel the same about Al Wilson but hate the donkeys.

yeah, as happy as i was for the Steelers, i knew immediately after that game was over, how bad it would be for Peyton, and i felt bad for him. I do hope he gets a ring in his career, just so the talk about him not winning the big game will cease for good.

I think Peyton will get more than one ring before he hangs it up. The Colts are so close now it's scary. They need to start a little slower in the future and finish the year on a roll like the Steelers did this year. IMO, not looking through orange glasses, he's the top QB in the NFL. I really believe Dungy losing his son was at the worst possible time and it upset the whole thing. The Steelers just caught them at the right time.

The Colts have a really bad habit of running up against future Super Bowl Champions in the playoffs.

Just think . . . If Nick Harper's wife hadn't slashed him in the knee with a knife, he might have had the speed to juke a 250 lb Quarterback on that fumble return and the Colts might be accepting the trophy right now.

If a butterfly flaps its wings in a forest . . .

Many props to Peyton........

As for Indy...Who ever replied to the nature of..." find another time to go flat" thats about the sum of it...
You never want to play flat, but it happens. Being the media beast (Undefeated), coach Dungys loss, and what i feel like shot this team down...benching starters and the total time off the end of the season to the play-offs killed their continuity.

The ring will come...more NFL records to autograph along the way.

I think Big Ben's performance in the SB showed that not all QB's that win the SB are great (or play great in that game) and there are great QB's that haven't/won't win the SB.

It's little consolation but PM had by far the best QB rating of the ones that lost to the Steelers in the playoffs. Add to that Big Ben's "22" rating and it shows that TEAMS win or lose the game.

you know that's true, and i'll be the first to tell you, statistically Ben was AWFUL. but the difference between the STeelers and the Colts is they don't have to rely on Ben to get it done. And Ben doesn't have that pressure or attitude that HE has to do it.
