PFF grades Vol defensive players

Random observations:
- Josephs, Pearce, and McCoy graded as good as they looked
- surprised ONL did not grade higher
- I was expecting a little more from our LBs this year
- good to see Simmons go out with a pretty good season

I wish Simmons had lived up to the glamour shots with the chains when he committed.

1. Agreed
2. He and OT are both splash players who play really vertical. They both really struggle as a double team. In a 3-4 in the NFL they could both end up as ends and look to be better suited in that role.
3. He was always physically limited in some ways. He is really strong but has short arms. He is quick but not fast. He plays high. He plays hard. He is really more of a traditional 0 technique that did not play that as much here.

I loved this DL group. The staff did a good job of putting the pieces together to let each player maximize their strengths.
