that is this team downfall

we have none

we made that gerrity kid look like steve nash

sure we can't shoot a lick either.... but if you had a smart PG (ie Gerrity) we could get alot of dribble drive dump-offs for easy baskets too

hopefully Golden is the answer

no PG play
no SG play
no center play
no PF play
no SF play
no coaching
no bench play

Did I miss anything?

PG is the QB of a team man...without a PG nothing else will go well consistently

he can coach it...he just doesn't evaluate them well

hopefully golden proves this wrong

Yes,

I think that the managers are weak
the trainers lack consistency
and don't get me started on the cheerleaders

On the bright side, the dance team is exceptional when all the starters are available and on campus.

Hat, you are 100% correct. Point Guard play is the heartbeat of a team.

This team has lacked one for a long time. Jujuan Smith was close, CJ Watson was a good PG and Chris Lofton could shoot the lights out so it didn't matter.

But their teams are far superior to USC in talent. And that's a major understatement.

It still doesnt speak to the style of play we will encounter, and that will favor us more than it did vs USC. While many teams attempt to slow our game down, very few succeed. USC succeeded in this dept not because of talent but because of discipline. We have won over 90 percent of our games in which we score over 80 and only around 55 percent when we score less. We have played well against past Calapari coached teams with far more talent and struggled in the same year against Butler a less talented mor disciplined team. But that is only my opinion fwiw.

He and John Wall are much better than Garrity but the teams match up much better with us as far as style of play.

wish I could agree with you on our match up with Kansas but I can't. Besides more talent at guard and post, they are a very disciplined team that can run, or play the half court game. We won't be able to outrun them, they will run right with us, and their depth is a major concern. They have a great inside-out game, and they move the ball around extremely well. I'm most concerned with the depth, except for Tyler every one of their 2nd five would be starting for us. I live in Kansas City, see every one of their games because my wife's family has had season tickets for years.... not saying we won't beat them but it's going to take an A+ game, and a great crowd. Go Vols!

Im not saying we should win, but we have a shot. We have our problems but we arent a bottom feeder, who would have give USC a shot based on talent and depth alone? What if they come in and shoot 30% and Collins has 4 assists and 6 turnovers and its their one bad game. It wouldnt be the end of their season just like this past saturday wasnt the end of ours. We are still a top 20 team, and there are alot of teams with more tradition that would love to be here with us.

agree, we do have a shot. If we can have some pride, decide to protect our house, we have a great chance of winning. My only point is that on paper Kansas is a better team. Go Vols!

Kansas only beat Memphis by two points, and we have a brand new coach. They are not unbeatable.

BUT, Memphis' guards are far more talented as a whole than UT's. We need better guard play and if we get that in the Kansas game, yeah we can compete with them. The other problem will be who can stop Aldrich

PG is not our biggest issue, so don't understand why it gets discussed so much.

We can't shoot free throws
We can't shoot 3 pointers consistently
Our best player (Smith) doesn't shoot enough anymore
Our best post player (Chism) wants to be a guard, which hurts our rebounding
Our substitutions are all messed up
We have poor shot selection

The only thing that the PG can help with is our half court offense, but still all of the above has to be done also. We have to start hitting our shots! There is no excuse for shooting a 3 pointer and hitting the side of the backboard, missing wide open layups, trying some fancy dunk that clangs off the back of the rim, etc.
