Alex Anzalone of Wyomissing, Pa., decommitted from Ohio State's recruiting class Friday after a convicted sex offender posted a photo on the Internet of himself and the junior linebacker, taken during Anzalone's unofficial visit to the OSU campus last month.

Anzalone, rated No. 65 in the ESPN 150 and the No. 4 prospect in Pennsylvania, committed to the Buckeyes on April 21 while visiting Columbus for the Scarlet and Gray spring game.

If I was Bruce Pearl I would ask the NCAA to ask. Coaches at OSU if they recognize said recruits picture and who is present and location. Ha

This. The father sounded like a prick talking even. "I can't be everywhere." If your kid is 6'5 and a DI athlete, and he can't be left alone without worrying, then something is wrong on your end.

I've never heard of a convicted sex offender who targets 16-18 year old DI athletes though, something in this is a bit fishy. I think this was just their excuse to decommit from a school they were shaky on already.

It is stupid. And it shows that a program can be potentially affected by the stupidest things in recruiting, so don't assume they cant.

Sounds like an excuse to decommitt. They should also do that search where it shows how many registered sex offenders they have living near them. They should probably be putting their house up for sale after that if it bothers them this much.

WTF? I'm glad OSU lost out , don't get me wrong. It still doesn't make any sense why someone would decommit because a sex offender happened to be prowling around campus. Lamest excuse ever.
