Alright Vol Prognosticators, pick the overachiever out of this years signing class. I think it will be LaMarcus Thompson, or Dorian Davis. I have a good feeling about both.

1.Chad Cunningham
2.Walter Fisher
3.Dorian Davis
4. Blake Garretson
5.Quintin Hancock
6.Darius Myers
7.Lee Smith
8.Luck Stocker
9.LaMarcus Thompson
10. Jarrod Shaw
11. Nick Stephens
12. Daniel Lincoln
13. Ramone Johnson
14. Brent Vinson
15. Gerald Williams
16. Chase Nelson
17. Stephaun Raines
18. Victor Thomas
19. Justin Garrett
20. Jacques McClendon
21. Cody Pope
22. Dustin Lindsey

That is a very hard question, and, frankly, I can't choose. So many of these kids can come in and do more than they are hyped. Davis, Garrettson, Stocker, Thompson, Shaw, Nelson, Raines, Thomas, Garrett, Pope, and Lindsey could all overachieve in my opinion. I'd say Cunningham and Lincoln as well, but it's hard to overachieve as a kicker or punter. I'd be surprised if the rest(McClendon, Williams, Vinson, Johnson, Stephens, Smith, Myers, Hancock, and Fisher) overachieved because they have good hype behind them.

Nick stephens. If he gets his shot he will be one hell of a qb. He was a top 11 qb with one year of playing?? thats un-heard of.

But that's the thing, he has hype. To exceed those expectations would be really hard. I personally really like Raines, Pope, Garrettson, and Lindsey.

Stephens may have been my third or fourth choice. I also like the Raines kid. I have heard he can fly.

Garrettson is good, he is very fast for a DL. For some reason, we took alot of tweeners this year with Garrettson, Thomas, and Nelson. Chief must like what he sees in McBride because he's recruiting alot of players that fit his mold.(We we're also trying to get Patterson and Mullins which are tweeners)

I'm with you on LeMarcus. I've seen him play and he's got a good attitude. Of course a HS alumni bias has nothing to do with it either.

I like it HV kind of a hybrid DL/DE. Maybe he is just so used to practicing against those 350 pound OLs that he wants players that can just run around them.

People are downing this class bad, but I think it is good in a different way. These are the players that we want. Kids with good attitudes that just need a chance to shine. They might not be the can't misses, but they seem to be the type that will give 100% and have heart.

Yeah, it's good to have players that can play both positions because it adds to depth. It also creates alot of mismatches.

I have mixed emotions about the heart thing. It makes sense logically, but speed kills, and that typically seperates these kids in the rankings. I will say that I am ready to recruit a class where EVERYONE qualifies academcially. That would be pleasant.

Well, it's good that speed kills, because we got a good amount of that in this class. We should really calm down, look at how big our OL an DL classes are. 4-6 OL(depending on Smith and Shaw) and 5-9 DL(depending on Smith, Shaw, Stocker, and Williams). We all know how important it is to recruit well in the trenches.

Fulmer singled out Dorian Davis and a guy who could make an impact.

mild over achiever walter fisher...very good speed...better pass rusher than adverstised...like constantine ritzman...with talent.

Fisher should be able to make an impact early along with Garrett. I think Vinson could be the name we hear alot more of he's got some wheels.

IDK about Fisher overachieving. He is a 5* player so he'd have to be All-American to overachieve.
