Pick the score of the game between the Gators and the Vols and win a $25 Amazon gift card or a VolNation t-shirt.

Rules:

The winner will be determined by subtracting the actual score of each team from the predicted score of each team. If the actual score is Vols 76 and Gators 3 and you picked Vols 70 Gators 7, your score would be (76-70) + (7-3) = 10. The smallest score wins.

You DO have to have the winner correct in order to win.

The tiebreaker will be total passing yards by Erik Ainge.

Only scores in this thread will count toward the contest.

Exactly HAHA. Ainge is averaging a little over 300 yards per game. A Florida defense will probably decrease that number to a degree, but NOT to 112:good!:

Ok, then to what? I base my prediction on the fact that you are going to have to use a ball-control game plan and try to keep the score low. That was probably already in the works, but with the loss of two key defensive players, I imagine the goal will be to keep Leak & Co. off the field as much as possible and that means a return to run, run, run for UT.

Ainge has had a great start, but there is no guarantee of perfection throughout the season. I say he would do good, but I am also hopeful.

I do think 112 is a little low.

That's a silly thing to say. If UT wins you can count on me here congratulating UT within hours of the game.

I don't understand why such surprise or animosity at me for predicting that Florida's defense can keep Ainge in check. Its not a ridiculous thing to project. Would you not agree that a lot of the passing yards in the Cal game were YAC? Florida is much better at preventing that, I think, than Cal was. And as I say I do believe that UT will try to minmize Florida time of posession, particularly given the injuries you have to deal with. And that means a lot more running.

If I am right and UT plays very conservatively, and should UF win by a significant margin, I guarantee you the boo birds will be on here criticizing the lack of throign the ball, not realizing that it has to be the plan for this game for UT.
