Congrats to DownNDirty for taking the close win at Richmond! Come back next week for the sure to be low scoring race at Talladega.

Note: Two contestants picked three drivers from Group B in their entries this week. I don't think I have encountered this issue before and was honestly not quite sure how to address penalties. I didn't feel right in completely disqualifying each contestant for what was most likely a mistake, but I also felt like penalties needed to be somewhat strict in the case that a contestant may have been trying to "sneak one by". So, the penalty is that each contestant has had the results of their highest finishing Group B driver of the three they selected disqualified.

1. DownNDirty - 195

I can guarantee that I was not trying to gain an advantage. I understand and respect Syxx's ruling but I disagree with it. I don't think removing the best of my B finishers was fair.

I can tell you this. I have never, ever tried to "sneak one by," and the insinuation is an insult. I honestly thought that Jeff Burton was a C-Class guy when I was putting in my picks. That was my mistake and I overlooked things. But to say that I was trying to "sneak one by" is a joke, and a complete farce. My reaction in the race thread should say it all.

Congrats to DownNdirty.

Congrats to DownNdirty.

I didn't say you were trying to cheat, and I don't believe you were. Maybe that was the wrong use of words and if so I apologize. Like I said I wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation rules wise since I'm not sure it has ever come up, at least not while I have been running the contest. I thought though that the penalty should either be disqualify the top finishing Group B driver or disqualify who I thought the contestant was mistakenly picking as their Group C driver, which in both cases was the highest finishing Group B driver. I didn't feel disqualifying the lowest finishing Group B driver would be much of a penalty (in your case nine points and in the other only two). I don't want to be accused of making the rules up as I go but in this case I had to because I didn't know how to handle it since that has been a hole in the rules that hasn't come up until this week. If the other contestants agree that this penalty is too strict, maybe even needing to put it to a vote to find out, I will change the ruling. I felt that as the one who runs the contest I needed to make a ruling but if others feel this is too harsh or want to make any suggestions on how to handle this I'm open to it.

Syxx, you're a good man, and like I said I understand and respect your decision, but I have to assert a defense of what happened. I know you aren't making it up as you go, but I feel as though dropping the lowest would be a fair punishment. But I don't believe you should feel compelled to put it to vote. That only opens the door to people doubting you, and we can't have that.

Thanks Nerd, I appreciate that. This will definitely be addressed in the rules for next season if I run the contest then and changes will be made if needed.

To me, it's a similar situation as addressed by Rule #6. The penalty was fair, IMO, and no further action should be required.

Congrats DownNDirty! Not a great week or even average one either! 3 drivers shot my scores down. Thanks Mark & Kasey! Kyle got in the mixup with Jimmie and the #48 team finished slightly better than Kyle. Onto to 'Dega where anything can happen!
