Alright so I've been trying to make myself a fancy new avatar from the avatar I already have. I've been at it for an hour or so now but I'm doing it with only Paint and Word. I've got these two things (one is just a wordart).

And I'm attempting to put them together something like this...

Problem is I don't want the white box around the word VolLaw. Anyway I can get rid of this with the equipment I have? I need photoshop right about now, I know. Help will be greatly appreciated.

You will need to save the vollaw pic as transparent so the white background doesn't show. Not sure if you can do that in paint but I doubt it.

Yea I've been looking for something like that to no avail. I'll make due w/o the VolLaw for now I suppose. Thanks freak.

Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion. If I have time later today maybe I can download the two files and fix it for you.

paint.NET is a pretty good, and free, photo editor. It does require Microsoft's dot.net framework.

other folks like the GIMP, an open source image editing software that is very powerful in it's own right.

I think that Freak has a compression hack for VBulletin that is compressing the picture file so his server has a lower load and faster page loads. I could be wrong though but I believe that is the reason.

Well all right. Thanks for the pic anyway :hi:

It looks like it converts every thing to a gif but you could always try uploading a png and seeing if that has more luck.
kcvl.PNG

Save it as a .png

Not true that I'm aware of. You could test for sure by comparing file sizes.
