I love Smoky Mtn Brewery, Bennett's BBQ, and Best Italian Cafe Elks Plaza. Best bar Blaines by far.

Some folks can't get enough of the airbrush t-shirt and fudge shops.
....And swords.

They have really made an abomination out of a wonderful part of the country. We go to little towns in the the North Georgia mountains and North Carolina and think, this is how Gatlinburg could be. Instead, we are overrun with the people of Walmart on vacation.

Helen is another one that makes no sense lol. Who in their right mind wants to be there in the Fall?
It's awful, traffic anyway. We'll go play putt putt or eat during the summer, but I stay away during the fall.

We went there back in October when we were on vacation. It was just OK. I love the building and atmosphere. But, we have Shirley's and The Farmer's Daughter in the Tri. Both are much better family style joints.
The OM is slop the hogs (inbred, airbrush tee shirt wearing, loser) food. The pottery barn cafe across the street is good eats.

How do you really feel? Seriously, don't hold back. ;)

I'll give The Pottery Barn Cafe a shot the next time I'm up there. I certainly won't be going back to the Old Mill. I was pretty disappointed in the food considering what I paid for it.

Didn't I write you a book on this in the Spring??

Edit: All of it should still be relevant this time of year besides the traffic part and Dollywood splash country.

I was there last month. I just don’t get the allure.
....but VRBO is the way to go.

If you enjoy junk shop, go carts, and the ultimate tourist trap known as Dollywood have at it. I don't even go to the car shows up there anymore. To much chaos. Prefer Summerset KY for shows.

Obviously people enjoy it or the traffic wouldn’t be so hideous lol. To me, it’s like somebody slammed Panama City or Myrtle Beach into the mountains and added more pancake places.

The mountains are awesome. The towns themselves, yes, you couldn't pay me to hang out there. They are the epitome of tourist traps.

It was a totally snobbish comment I heard someone say once, but also thought was totally true. They said that Gatlinburg is a place that poor people think that rich people think is nice.

Sure is a lot of class warfare and snobbery going on in this thread.
