I say it was on opening kickoff. Robert Ayers flat out knocked the snot out of that dudeand really set the stage for Tennessee in the game. Tedford also said the TE that got hit was their toughest player.

What is your play of the game? Hardesty run? Ainge to Meachem?

I think it was the touchdown to Brown because it really got Ainge goin and set a nice tone to start the game

also Hardesty's run..that was bad

Hardesty's run characterized the game the best. Tennessee played well, kept the feet moving and glided right through. Cal looked stupid and sloppy.

I'm tempted to agree with you. Our D really hit them hard on their first possession and I think that set the tone.

That hit on the kickoff set the tone for sure... but I'm not sure Cal could hear it for the CROWD! I think we stunned them with the hard hits, and loud crowd... they were like deer in the headlights the entire first half.

As for the tone setter, it was one of Cal's first plays. Lynch get hit pretty good by a corner then a LB or DL came over and REALLY lit him up.

Play of the game otherwise... Hardesty run. Still shaking my head over that one.

I think the Cal players are probably most upset over the Hardesty run. He broke what - FOUR tackles??

My head is STILL in the Big Orange clouds today!!

I have one for ya! On or first scoring drive (second possesion), the play when Swain dropped the ball after a big catch but immediately fell on it... HUGE to keep the ball right there and eventually score first!

Wade knocking the ball out of their hands to prevent two long throws early was huge; if they get those it's a different ball game.

Yeah, I thought Lynch was supposed to be fast?!?! I saw Karl run him down, FROM BEHIND at least twice. :birgits_giggle:

I thought I did as well, but atleast one of the times it was Forsett that he ran down.

They seem like they're trying to imitate USC with this Lynch(Bush) and Forsett(White) combination. Well, I guess it's like they say, if you can't beat 'em..

i tend to look for little things that did not happen last season, i was pleased tosee downfiled blocking by wrs, also the swarm after any cal player who did, also we played thru the plays, cal stopped, see hardesty run. all rbs ran hard, all defensive players really laid the wood on cal at least first half and in to third quarter. those are all good signs of changes made and hoepfully shape of things to come. i've been a fan for 49 years, it all looked good to me first half, and i was singing rocky top all night.

My play was Ainge to Swain. I liked it the most because it was executed so smoothly. Our Offense has found its swagger again.

I agree on the Swain TD due to it being smooth. I was watching an underneath WR that appeared open as well.

The best stat that I did not realize was that on most or all of the scoring drives, we did not have to convert a 3rd down. Plus the fact that Cal did not cross our 40 yd line until our backups were in the game.

I believe it was six LIO, I'm not really sure I saw it on Sportscenter this morning and that's what they had counted

But that's probably the play of the game for me....That or Meachem on about 7 or 8 yard out pattern and then he took it to the house

I bet you Lee Corso feels like an idiot for making his picks....He was singing our praises this morning though

I was thinking the same thing. If he hadn't made those plays it might have been 88 and out the gate.
