Was going to mention this in a thread that got yanked...

My buddy Mark Matlock played for Vandy in the '70's but wears lots of orange and calls CPF a good friend. He is a huge Vol fan (figuratively and literally).

Just wondered if anyone knew of others that fall into the same category.

How many days until kickoff?

Thank you for validating a remark that I made about mark matlock. A lot of times, we don't understand that a lot of in state kids that play for memphis or vandy grew up as vols but were not offered by the vols. It doesn't mean they shouldn't go because they are vol fans. Seems I read where Richmond flowers became a Bama fan because bear Bryant got him admitted to the alabama law school when he was denied entrance at ut. I'm sure there are several former vol players that had kids to play for other sec schools and they proudly wore other colors.

Sal Sunseri's daughter is a current Tennessee student-athlete and Alabama fan.

Marshall Henderson (Ole Miss BB) has been known to root for Tennessee. No idea what his connection to the program is, though.

Bo Wallace (Ole Miss starting QB) grew up a Tennessee fan and dreamed of playing in Neyland Stadium. He said last week at Media Days that he was disappointed that the game this year wasn't in Knoxville so he could have gotten to experience it.

Tajh Boyd attended some UT BB games during his career at Clemson.

Spurrier was a Vol fan at one time

Spurrier wanted to come to Tennessee, but we didn't want him because of the single wing offence we ran, that's why he hates us so much, think about it if we were a passing offence back then the oh ball coach would have been our coach in the 90s.

We turned some good football players away the last few years that could have make a huge difference, like Bryce Petty this year could have been our QB.:ermm:
