Until now, i kept forgetting to post this. The Georgia game provided a reminder of something I've said and I'm sure others have as well. Padding should cover EVERY inch of brick behind the endzone. One of our players ran into that wall and hit just inside the padded area. Missing the unpadded section by inches. Sooner orlater, we will lose a player to the uncovered bricks. Or an opposing player is hurt and the UT gets sued as a result. Is there any reason there are uncovered sections of brick at all? Any reason whatsoever?

Let's cover it "Brick by Brick".
Odds are they won't hit the wall at Bristol.

It looks as if there is so little room that they don't have padding there because they don't have space for it. I hope they aren't going without padding so photographers can stand down there. They really need to do a renovation down there and add some space before someone gets hurt.

Their recent renovations to that area is why there's not much room. They added that area just a few years ago.

I agree 100%. They've got to do something and it's surprising that the NCAA or SEC hasn't stepped in. It's crazy in the corners where there's a brick wall within several feet of the field. It's so bad that I'd seriously think twice about calling a fade to the back corner of the Endzone.

Good post. I had the same thought durin the game. Something needs to be done. Atrocious design flaw from a safety standpoint.

There is only so much padding can do. My concern is that someone will hit it with their head down which could be devastating. Those are awesome seats but IMO extremely dangerous and need to be taken out. Be proactive not reactive.

Put spikes on it...bet no one will go near it.
:)
j/k

I thought the same thing. They really do need to extend the padding there.

I remember watching the Montana game on PPV and the Vol Network guys were TERRRRRIBLE (charles barkley voice). One of Montana's receivers went head first into the padding and the announcer said "it looks like he hurt his ankle" lol. :eek:lol:
