If Gruden is not coming than why is there not any Media/Press/ of him actually saying it?

He can say "Look, I love Tennessee but my heart is really in the NFL" "They'll get there guy and I'll be rooting for them, but it's not gonna be me coaching."

The more Gruden doesn't say anything, tells me it's a DONE deal!

Well, has anyone asked him? It's not like he does weekly press conferences, like when he was coaching. He'll do radio shows and other press to promote MNF, but that's hardly a venue where he's going to get interrogated about coaching jobs.

Even if he did, I wouldn't necessarily buy it. Saban was adamant that he wasn't going to bama but here we are.

There is apparently some interest in a return to coaching from Gruden.. He may be thinking NFL though.. The speculation only drives up the price..

Really though if it's all about money, then i think we'd be ok with several options.. I want a hungry to prove himself in the SEC Gruden.. Not a guy looking to cash in..

Arkansas has formally offered him. Why has he not rejected THEM?

Because he doesn't hear the chatter or anything.

Money is not an issue. On Gruden's part or UT's part.

Or, for that matter Arky/Oregon/any NFL team. Gruden is the prize. Money won't be an issue.

Because he is an attention whore who loves the courtship.

He was talking on Mike & Mike this morning and they completely cut out the college QB conversation and mainly stayed on the NFL. With all the rumors and news going around you would think that would have been the best time to bring up the question about the job openings.

If you loved the attention, wouldn't you want your name all over the sports outlets. The only ones talking about it are mainly local media and sports forums. The Lakers coaching search was plastered all over the tv and even more after they hired their new coach.

Maybe he hasn't been asked yet so there is nothing to say

All the talk just makes him and his agent more money. He can stay at ESPN doing what he's doing and ask for a raise and likely get it, or he can go coach and get more money from whatever team he want's to go to.

Free market is what it's all about and he and his agent are playing it correctly, no matter what he wants to do. Just proves to me that he is a smart man.

I agree! It's a win-win for him regardless of what he decides to do.

The reason he doesnt say anything is because its rediculous for him to even comment on meaningless rumors created by 22 year old college students.

First off, I don't thing Gruden is coming to UT. I'm not saying I'm against it. I have no idea what kind of coach he would be in college. When I was a Bucs season ticket holder back in '05-'06 his teams were tough to watch. His '02-'03 teams were awesome to watch, though.

Anyway, the thing hurting UT right now is the that the Eagles are sucking right now. As much as I like Andy Reid, he's gone. They want Gruden, IMO. So does Gruden go to UT or Philly? Tough call.

Local media and sports forums are pretty good ways to get your name out there, especially if it's local media from Knoxville, Fayetteville, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Diego, etc. I would say those are pretty strong sports outlets. Plus, Gruden already has his name all over ESPN, so no need to cover that angle any further and contractually he probably can't officially put his name out there for jobs. If you don't think he loves this attention you are crazy. Dude is an egomaniac.
