I’m not going to use it as an excuse for losing last night but my god, I’ve never seen so many bad calls in one game.

1. Easily, the worst call was the charge on Chandler. Absolutely horrendous considering the TT player moved into him.

2. Over the back call on Plavsic? The dude is 7’0 tall! Huge difference between over the back and trying to tip the ball back in.

3. Two clean steals on Zeigler that were called fouls.

4. Goaltending? Seriously? Even the announcers didn’t agree with that call.

I get there’s missed calls in basketball but this is a constant trend that’s getting worse.

The NCAA either needs to address the issues or hire some new replacements. Get rid of the ones like TV Teddy and Pat Adams who give college basketball officials a bad name.

#4, technically he did commit basket interference by touching the net. It's a stupid rule but by definition it was the correct call. He didn't make the player miss or affect anything but it was the by the book correct call. Just stupid rule.

the ref's did not lose that game last night, our lack of shooting lost that game.

But without one of several of the missed calls TN would have won. Bad calls are part of it. Hopefully over the long haul TN gets their share of gratuitous blown calls and not in the games where TN is blowing out the opponent.

6 of 40 (40 attempts....40....why are we shooting the ball so dang much when it isn't hitting?) from 3-pt range doesn't help our case and crap free throw shooting. Refs were bad, yes. Lots of phantom calls. But when you don't drive the basket and only get fast break looks, not gonna get many points. Oh, and not doing layups any better than JJJ on that clean break...yeah, that's gonna hurt. So we kinda shot ourselves some last night.

To be fair, the game after us had just as crappy shooting percentages so what's up with that? Rim? Ball? Surely 4 different teams aren't all roughly the same level bad from 3 range on the same night?

6 for 39 after starting 2-29. 4-10 is pretty good, don’t ya reckon?

Knew the reffing BS was coming. Truth is, put a balanced attack on the floor, backcourt and an inside presence of some kind and you win ballgames. Quit with the excuses.

Do you really not understand that we tried going inside with nothing available. They closed that street completely off. What would you suggest?

Would like to know what the one ref was yelling at Uros about. Looked like he was being a complete d!ck to me.
Also, I'm surprised there wasn't more mention of the TT kid flopping and apparently writhing in pain after Uros barely touched him.

Yet they called a flopping warning on Vescovi.

Pat Adams sucks for sure. The officiating wasn't good but I saw a lot of bad calls in both directions.

I didn't see consistency in calls for sure. Some times they let physical play go and others they called hand checks 40 feet from the basket.

Yes the phantom elbow that Uros touched the guy with and the dude falls down writhing in pain. What an AZZhat play by TT player. Was he coached to do that?

Kid was fine after they rubbed some vagisil on his sternum.

Not really. It's possible to criticize officiating without using it as an excuse, and the OP made that pretty clear.

A poster with an agenda starts a thread, gives several examples, say certain refs should be terminated, and say it's the worse game ever. He can say it's not an excuse but I've seen hundreds of these threads in any sport and they ultimately are for the purpose of blaming the refs.

I'm not saying the officiating was good. It wasn't. But it was poorly and unevenly officiated on both ends, which is normally what you get with Pat Adams.

There were dozens of these threads everytime Pruitt or Holly lost a game from their apologists.

He has to be touching the net when the ball contacts the rim for it to be basket interference. I thought he got the net prior to the ball contacting the back of the rim.

Honestly, I think it was called because both officials thought he went thru the cylinder and actually blocked the ball causing the offensive player to brick the dunk off the back rim. Obviously, that isn't what happened, but that is precisely why that play should be reviewable.
