I have been on some of the gator message boards today and it amazes how much they whine. Not all but some are actually saying that wynn crossed the goalline on 4th down and how they got cheated out of some momentum there that could have changed the game. They're also whining about us being above them in the polls I guess they've forgotten how they got a bcs bowl and we got the citrus after we beat them in 2001. Finally they were saying how it was karma that Prothro got hurt for Shula trying to run up the score of all the fans to whine about someone running up the score, pathetic.

How often did Spurrier leave his starters in and still throwing the ball. That guy had no mercy and i wish Bammer would have gotten 2-3 td's late in the 4th.

Speaking of Spurrier running up the score, wasn't that some poetic justice this weekend!

I don't think you can really fault Shula for what happened to Prothro. Just one of those freak things . . .

I'm not whining and neither is Urban Meyer or the team. The Gators got their butts whupped by a better football team. Meyer said it best in an article today -- he says all of the Gators's problems were exposed by Alabama. The Tide had the far superiro game plan and they were better prepared. They were stronger, faster, and in every phase of the game much better than UF.

If the man had any comprehension about what he did to his team by leaving his starters in, he'll be kicking himself about now. We shouldnt have to blame him.

I guess this thread is more towards Gator fans on other boards... their own boards, I assume? Let 'em complain, they can do so on their own boards all they want... except the issue about Prothro.

You're right Lawgator, and it's nice to see that UM is taking that same approach, I'm sure he's trying to light a fire under a team that is underachieving. It took a loss to the Gators, and a butt whooping for a half against LSU to get our guys to stand up.

That anyone would celebrate what happened to Tyrone Prothro as "karma" shows the character of that person! How sad.

And finally, Wynn wasn't even CLOSE to getting into the endzone.

I don't like Alabama any more than the next Vol fan... but being such sore losers (especially what they say about Prothro) is over the top.

Agree with you on Prothro. Feel for him and his team.

As to Wynn, I don't care if the guy was carried into the end zone by naked ladies and a touchdown recorded, it would not have changed anything in that game. Momentum is important, but not when the other team is at home and ready to play like Alabama was. What a goofy argument by my fellow UF fans. We had chances to get back into it and didn't do it, ergo we never mounted any sort of comeback. So, I disavow claims that this one call by officials affected the outcome.

Agree with you on the sore loser comment. Sadly, this does seem to be a trait more so for Gator fans than UT fans. I say that because I got nothing but kudos and congrats from UT posters here after the UT-UF game and that one was a squeaker when compared to UF-Ala. Wonder if the the same UF fans arguing that we could have turned things around on that call are willing to admit that if your punter just kicked the ball instead of threw it, then everything might change.

The only time I think you can truly blame things on a call is when it is at the end of the game and means a lot. The Gaffney catch (?), the personal foul and clock screw up last year... those types of calls. Otherwise, if you are a champion, you rise above a bad call here and there and pick up where you left off when you get the ball back.
