That we actually have a chance in winning at a place like Alabama. I'm watching a Colorado State team with FAR more talent than we have on our roster (sarcasm) stand toe to toe with the #1 team. But they do have a an SEC caliber quarterback, quality defense and all that stuff we don't have, so to all who say "we just dont have the talent" please don't start to think any differently now

Also please remind Rutgers they don't have the talent to hang with Arkansas and other SEC schools, and call UCONN and tell them that Michigan is far better than they are and in NO way should they have a lead at halftime

Talent is Half the Battle (GI Joes, get it?)

no... no... you definitely don't get it. Coaching by the current staff had nothing to do with the trash we've seen the last two weeks.

Alabama is going through the motions. They could care less about Colorado State.

Colorado State is coached by former Alabama OC Jim McElwain.

No way Saban embarrasses CSU

24-6 is toe to toe?

It was 17-6 before a borderline fumble by CSU quarterback. Alabama hit them on a quick strike right after turnover. Alabama has also had a blocked punt for a touchdown. Watch the game then make a comment. My point is they tackle better, catch better, run the ball better. I'm not disagreeing with anyone that we are shy on top talent. But I can't stand to see "We have no chance to beat anyone". Why even play the game then?

UConn lost to Towson State. If CBJ had done that, some would have run him out of town already. They have a lead at half, not at the end. I guess I don't get it.

I have been watching the game. Learn football outside of the score. This was never in doubt. Alabama is taking it easy.

31-6. CSU is keeping it close. They've been toe to toe throughout. Only losing by 25 now. They basically have Bama beat........

Your totally right by missing the entire point of the thread. It was an 11 point game to start the 4th quarter. The offensive starters played till 2 mins to go in the game. Defensive starters played entire game. I'm sure Saban thought lets just go through the motions and not let anyone have any rest this week because we're not going to need to be rested to play the rest of our SEC schedule. You do also realize that until the 4th quarter CSU had equaled Bamas offensive numbers. Playing Vanilla or not. And Didnt you say know more about the game than the score?? The only comments you made we're about the score

Back to the topic at hand, as I've said before, I think you can overcome talent issues with great coaching. I'm not saying Butch Jones is not a great coach, I'm glad we hired him, but I haven't seen anything to separate him from the last guy we fired when it comes to doing more with less. Example. I'm also a tarheel fan, Roy Williams is a great coach when he has great talent, but when he doesn't he's not anything to write home about. One the flip side, Duke doesn't always have the best talent , but Coach K (can't stand) always gets the most out if his guys. They've always got a chance because he is a great coach.

Dooley had twice the offensive talent that CBJ has. I would have loved for CBJ to have that this year. Our point is a team can play one game close or play close for a half, but that doesn't mean their coaches are that great. Rutgers has talent, UConn lost to Towson, and I believe Colorado State lost to Colorado, who barely has 5 wins the last 3 years. This staff just needs time to see what they can do. If they can't get better in 3-4 years, then we can talk again.
