Yesterday one of my childhood friends lost his battle with cancer. He was only 37 years young. He graduated from UT and I assure you he loved Vol football with his heart and soul. Right now he's probably telling God about the run Chuck Webb had in the Cotton Bowl or the TD throw from Manning on the first play against Alabama.

Please say a prayer for this VFL that was taken way too soon.

So sorry for your loss of a good friend and fellow Vols fan/alumnus, especially at such a young age. Heartfelt condolences.

Prayers for your friend and those affected coming your way . . .

My brother died of cancer too young also, age 40, in 2014. He was a Huge VFL, buried with UT football jersey, orange and white flowers, and a magnetic power T stuck to the outside of the coffin. I am the UT graduate in the family, and huge VFL myself, but he was my constant source for all the Vol football info I needed. Finally found my way here to Volnation so I do not have to feel so lost in things UT without him any more. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for being here to bring me Vol cheer, information and chuckles. Has made a difference in my life by bringing back part of what I lost when he died.

And all you guys out there in Volnation, check your private parts for masses regularly. Testicular cancer, which he died from, is 95%+ CURABLE if caught early enough. My brother died 7 days after a mass was found in his chest because it was too advanced for chemo to help when found.

GO VOLS! Really looking forward to see Team 120 produce . . . Live strong!
