WOW i dont know if most of you tuned into bball b/c we are actually good but please either stop watching or stop posting b/c you dont know the first thing about bball.. im reading most of your posts about bruce being a bad coach or we are not goin to go to the tourney and smith is overrated...please stop watching.. first we have only 4 returning players and 6 new faces playing its goin to take time for them to gel for us to of beaten geargetown and marqutte and being 10- 4 is not to bad considering are defense has been terrible..but when are guys feel comfortable with each other are d will follow and all u will be eating your words but you prolly wont notice b/c you dont know the first thing about bball...

Also, could all of the real bball fans at least teach the football crossovers how to be hoops fans????

I'm tired of the fans with Fulmer football mentality showing up at hoops games acting like it's a football game. The sports are totally different and the fans need to act as such!!!!! If you go to a basketball game expecting a "football crowd", maybe you should just stay home!

we do need the crowds to show some more love consistently in my opinion but lets be real...

this team can be good but they are not right now

there is no chemistry
no flow to offense, no communication on defense,
they are scrappy but thats about it right now
the leader is tyler but even he gets a bit out of control and chism throws up more dumb shots than anyone in the country
how obvious was it at certain pts tonight tyler was taking the shot and then other trips you knew we were going to tatum.

hey here is an idea, call picks or switch...
dont go under a screen when guarding a shooter and dont go over when guarding a slasher
some simple rules.

and when you are within 5 feet of the basket make the shot

Bruce is agood coach and will have them ready sooner than later but right now we are not a top 25 team and have a long way to go.

I agree with you on some points. But that Gonzaga team that shot 52% AGAIN... was just utterly bad and they didn't get their "mojo" back as the announcers were saying.. they just played a defense bad enough to make them look like they were playing well again. There is no excuse for losing to that team at home.

1. I agree with you on most things.. ( Please check your spelling)
2. VolsnTitans shouldn't be taken seriously on anything... ANYTHING..
3. Most of these guys only picked up on our MEN'S Basketball team when they hit the media spotlight and were a hot topic and most have come back this season not thinking about the effects of kids graduating and having freshman in. Please, Just ignore them..
Losing Lofton and Jajuan and even Howell were all devastating blows to this too..
It will pan out.. give it time..

Go Vols..

And again.. listen to nothing VNT has to say..

you're right about that. basketball is much faster, no excuse for the UT fans to just sit there. they need to be cheering on every defensive play. you guys need patience with this team, they have so many young players.

Most tourney worthy teams begin to gel when conference play starts. Time to put up or shut up for this team.

he runs a flex offense. it's worked the last few years because we had guys who cld knock down shots on a consistent basis. to be honest the flex is the easiest play in america. when i was in jr. high we ran this offense. not much to it at all. surprised he hasn't inserted at least a few more sets into the offense.

I guess being a cavs fan living in Tallahassee makes you a basketball genius. It takes true basketball insight to be a Lebron James fan particularly living 500 miles away from him.

I have no beef with fans being disappointed with the team. If a person invests time or money to watch a team then they have every right to be upset. I dont think it takes a basketball genius to see Chism and other vols getting beat time after time by a standard pick and roll. I too think they will get better but right now they are not very good and they deserve and earned the criticism.

i agree you can say w/e you like but this will get better and it has shown flashes of great basketball... ohh and what really pisses me off that everyone was calling bruce pearl a god at ut and now that he his young team is in a minor slump they want him gone r u serious??? ive been to ut once but am a die hard fan but c,mon u guys are bandwagon fans that know nothing about the game... and yes being a lebron fan in tally makes me a basketball expert ive been watching bball since i was 4 and trust me this team will struggle but will be ready to play tourney time

wanting bruce gone right now is an over reaction. yes.

but if you've watched this year's team all season and you think they will be "fine come tourney time" i've got 4 losses against tourney teams that says otherwise, and we're half way thru the season just about.

barring anything other than a major defensive turnaround and this team developing a potent outside shooting game, they are what they are going to be.

I really don't have a comment about the content of your post....

However, I do find it very interesting that you consistently type the word "our" as "are." I mean, I'm sure you probably pronounce "our" as "are," but it's strange to see it repeatedly spelled that way.

Actually, you're helping my argument!!!!

I want more people to express their opinions, thoughts, emotions, etc at basketball games instead of sitting on their hands a la football games!!!!

As another poster stated, crossover football fans need to learn how to be hoops fans because the sports ARE different!

Many of the "knowledgeable" hoops fans are the ones doing the dogging. One "guru" in particular has had a beef with CBP before he ever got here and takes every opportunity to start a new thread about it. Many of us "casual" fans are happy that the Vols are nationally relevant again.

It's never a good idea to stereotype an entire group.

gimmie a break. tennessee basketball sucked for years. you couldn't get 10 people to go to a men's game when i was in school.

the fact that people care now, and it's brining out fans that you may never have seen before is now infringing on what you thought was your own little insider club.......

you know the type.......we'll be cool because we're the only TN basketball fans..........we were fans when they were bad.....you're the same person that posts on the main forum about who is and isn't "true fans" of Tennessee football.

and now you get to sit back and call all those that have come back to basketball bandwaggon fans.

get over yourself. we're tennessee fans, and i'll root or not root for who i darn well want to, when i want to. and not feel bad for it one iota.
