Plus-13: Florida's turnover margin during the nine-game streak. In the nine games, the Gators turned the ball over 11 times compared to 24 by the Vols.

We'll win if we don't give them any easy TDs like OK and GA. Been the same story for years, untimely turnovers for easy scores for our opponents.

That's one thing Florida is doing well with this year too is turnovers. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they have the best turnover margin in the country.

I got a bad feeling about this one, I don't know why but I do.

While turnovers have a HUGE affect on the outcome of the game, they are almost impossible to predict.

Turnovers are mostly statistical noise. Well-coached teams and highly-talented teams may have a few less than badly-coached teams and poor-talent teams. People who do statistical predictions know this... teams that have good records with statistically low turnovers throughout the year typically perform more poorly (worse records and higher turnovers) the following year... In essence, much of their success was due to luck; their turnover margin will likely regress to the mean.

It's turnovers and the running game.

Although, the difference is if Florida makes Tennessee one dimensional, they still probably won't be able to stop the pass.

It depends on if Worley has all of his bones in tact at the end of the game.

I think the "feeling" you have is related to what you had for lunch. Once you take a bite of the "smoked gator meat" on Saturday you will be fine! Keep the faith bro ... Payback time! Believe in Team 118!

Honestly with the speed you guys have in the front 7 I'd stack the box and take my chance on getting to Worley before he has a chance to make a play. With the youth on the OL Florida could have a field day if they can get to Worley early. What I don't understand (disclaimer not knocking the coaches) in the uga game the first 2 series we used the pass to open up the run then at the drop of a hat shyed away from it, why?

Florida is one dimensional, it's Driskell on a draw, that's it, that is their entire offense this year.

You are correct; Florida currently leads the nation in turnover margin. Turnover Margin | FBS Football Statistics - NCAA.com. However, if there is one thing that Tennessee has proved in road games against Oklahoma and Georgia, it is that they will not wilt even after committing catastrophic errors. Consider the fumble in our end zone which Georgia recovers for a touchdown; our response in the next drive was to methodically march down the field and score a touchdown of our own. Similarly, Georgia scored a touchdown with only 1:17 left before halftime. Rather than allow it to deflate us like previous teams often have, we responded with a 59-second drive which culminated in a touchdown with :18 left on the clock (Tennessee Volunteers vs. Georgia Bulldogs - Box Score - September 27, 2014 - ESPN). We may not win this one but I seriously doubt that it will be because our guys fell apart after one or two big plays by Florida. Team 118 truly seems to have taken Butch's "snap and clear" mantra to heart.

Conventional wisdom says that they're good at creating turnovers and/or hanging-on to the ball.

Statisticians say that they have been lucky so far. They just happen to sit on that end of the bell curve.

Let's go Vols! Prove the statisticians right!

Frankly, turnovers are about the only thing that kept Alabama from utterly humiliating Florida this year. Of Florida's three touchdowns, one was scored directly by the defense on a 49-yard fumble recovery return; the other two culminated short drives of 16 and 31 yards which were set up by Alabama turnovers. Florida not only gave up 645 yards total offense to Alabama; they only amassed 200 yards themselves. When you look at a stat sheet like that, you would expect the Crimson Tide to have won by far more than 21 points. Timely turnovers can, indeed, be the great equalizer.
