Watching this game...Cal needs a coaching change. They have the talent but they are not being coached up. Execution is terrible. Utah is nothing special from what I see. They of course play hard as most undertalented teams with chips on their shoulder do. Cal has no idea what to do with its talent.

I've seen Jr college teams with better OL's than what Cal put on the field tonight.

There OL was fine. There talent was fine. They were not motivated to really play. To take a hit on the mouth and hit back. They acted like why are these guys playing so hard it is another crap bowl. That is how many teams from big conferences play. Utah, BYU and TCU come into these bowls with a big chip on their shoulders and hit the other team in the mouth all game long. The Pac10 teams just want to not get hurt and win if it is not too hard. SEC teams would do no different. We are lucky we get Big ten teams who have far less of a chip on their shoulder. Bowl games today are just not that meaningful to big time schools...another argument for a playoff. We would have much better played football in December and Janruary. Cal looked like they were asleep and bothered by Utah's scrappyness.

Funny, that nothing special Utah team you speak of has a 9 straight win bowl record, including a Bama thrashing. Cheese eaters don't normally accomplish such things.

Was at BWW with a buddy who is a Utah grad. Told him not to worry once Cal went up by 14. They lived up to their reputation.
