Our point guard tonight (Jordan Walker) had 10 assists, 6 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal against only two turnovers. What needs to be done to be an effective point guard that wasn't done by Jordan Walker tonight in your view?
I think it was more about what she didn’t do. She didn’t have a good defensive day. She slowed down momentum. Her missed fast break lay up that turned into an and 1 on the other end. Statistically she had a good game…but it certainly didn’t pass the eye test. Our point guard tonight (Jordan Walker) had 10 assists, 6 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal against only two turnovers. What does that mean? How is that relevant?Look on the bright side: the girls know how to apply makeup & style hair.
She wasn't. She helped out there some, but Horston only broke out of her shell when she was relieved of those responsibilities. IMO JH should be a 3-4, should stay far away from PG which was the source of so much of her earlier frustrations.Horston was our point guard
She wasn't until the game was on the line then she brought it up and also set the plays in motion. She was willing to shoot the open shot instead of forcing the pass. She could get in the paint and score and teams were one and done on their shot attempts because she would get the rebound. People couldn't catch her passes but that is another situation. She wasn't. Hopefully next year we'll have a setup like the men currently do, with Powell primary PG but Miles and Walker rotating through backup PG and 2, like Chandler and Zeigler do.
Agree to disagree. JH has neither the outside shot, decision making nor handle to be PG and is way too good closer to the basket. PG wastes her vast talent and pretty nearly ruined her. But it's moot, Powell, Walker, Miles and Wynn will be our guards. She wasn't until the game was on the line then she brought it up and also set the plays in motion. No problem she is better than the two we have now at the position. I think Powell has all the ability to be the full time at the position. Right now I'd rather have Horston than Walker making the half court decisions.Agree to disagree. What we need is Horston back. With her we would now have two more games in the W column and playing SC for the championship
^^^^^this, not to mention the rest of the season, my post wasn’t just in regards to the game against Kentucky. Walker is the weakest guard we have, the other two are weak too.I think it was more about what she didn’t do. She didn’t have a good defensive day. She slowed down momentum.
