It's no secret that we have missed a lot of opportunities this season. It's also no secret that the refs haven't helped us with their wrong-calls/non-calls. This thread will be my best attempt at compiling the major things this season that SHOULD or EASILY could have gone our way, that, if they did, we'd be having a lot different conversation. And, hopefully, I can illustrate this team's true potential, if we fully play up to it.
A couple disclaimers: If it is not obvious how many points we would have gotten on a drive, I will estimate. For example, if there's no conclusive proof we would have scored, but we'd at least have had a chip-shot field goal, then I'll put our points at 5. If we miss an obvious TD, we missed 7. If we were dominating a drive and MOST LIKELY would have scored a TD, I may award 6 or 7. If we knocked ourselves out of field goal range, I'll probably say 2 or 3 based on how easy the FG would have been.
Points Left on the field (per game)
Virginia 9
Austin Peay 14
Florida 7 (and 12 opponent)
UTSA 16
USCe 10 (and 8 opponent)
A&M 17
Hypothetical Final Scores
Tennessee 58, Virginia 13
Tennessee 44, Austin Peay 13
Tennessee 23, Florida 13
Tennessee 61, UTSA 14
Tennessee 51, USCe 12
Tennessee 37, A&M 13
Please let me know if you remember any others!
I will add Texas A&M later today.

Game | What Happened | Then What Happened | Points Missed |
Virginia | Ramel Keyton drops a BEAUTIFUL pass from Milton. | Would have either been a TD or left us DEEP in UVA Territory. Drive went 3-out. | 5 |
Virginia | False Start, then Sack | Out of makeable FG range | 1 |
Virginia | Dee Williams Fumble in UVA Territory on punt return | Would have started the next drive in FG range instead of a turnover | 3 |
Austin Peay | Did not convert 4th & 2 at AP 16 | Should have taken the FG | 3 |
Austin Peay | Two WEAK penalties against us on two 1st down conversions | If even one of them is called, we have a better chance for a TD rather than a FG | 1 |
Austin Peay | Obvious Catch and Fumble NOT overturned by replay | INT would have led to great field position for next drive | 2 |
Austin Peay | Obvious PI not called against Peay in end zone | Kicked FG instead | 4 |
Austin Peay | Keyton fumble on 1st down catch at AP 19 | Turnover, no points | 4 |
Florida | Hadden non-tackle on UF TD | TD, from far out, sparked UF, killed momentum | 5 (Opp) |
Florida | Milton BAD INT | UF Great starting field position | 4 (Opp) |
Florida | Confusion/Ref Kicked Ball | Allowed UF substitution, did not convert 4th and 1 | 5 |
Florida | Horrible blindside block call on a 1st down into FG range | Set up 2nd & 27 and drive stalled | 2 |
Florida | Stupid Roughing the Passer by Herring | Progressed UF across Midfield, and 1st down. Would have been 3rd & long | 3 (Opp) |
Florida | Offsides on obvious 4th down punt situation | 1st down and cost us 2.5 minutes | 0 |
UTSA | Errant touching on a partially blocked punt | Turnover. Would have resulted in near-FG range | 3 |
UTSA | Nimrod slows down on a potential long completion | Would have been an opportunity for at least a FG to end the half | 3 |
UTSA | Milton misses White on a wide open crossing pattern | Would have been a TD if the pass was even close. Was behind. Drive stalled. | 7 |
UTSA | Horrible missed Facemask on Nico | Should have been a 1st down and near the red zone | 3 |
USCe | Milton INT then Simmons Facemask | Gave South Carolina great field position. They scored. | 5 (Opp) |
USCe | Milton 2nd INT, in FG Range | Turnover, no points | 3 |
USCe | Dee Williams Return TD Wiped off by Penalty | Only scored FG on ensuing drive | 4 |
USCe | Tamarion McDonald missed INT/PBU on 4th Down | USCe converted and drove for a FG, instead of setting us up in their territory | 3 (Opp) 3 |
A&M | Missed PI on deep pass to Keyton | I don't think Keyton would have caught it, would have been 1st down, we converted a 1st down after this anyways | 0 |
A&M | Milton brain fart on 3rd & 8 free play | Could have converted 1st down. We didn't convert 3rd & 3 | 1 |
A&M | I don't even know what to call this | Turnover on 4th & 2 instead of kicking FG or converting. (Milton ran OB) | 3 |
A&M | Keyton dropped walk-in TD | Didn't cost us points, because the Rouging the Passer saved his bacon | 0 |
A&M | Two holding penalties by Ollie Lane | Killed our drive and prevented us getting into FG range | 3 |
A&M | Milton threw behind Keyton crossing route | Would have been 1st down into FG range. Went for it on 4th and did not convert | 3 |
A&M | Obvious PI no-call on Milton to Nimrod | We converted 1st down after this, but field position could have been different. | 0 |
A&M | Milton INT in end zone | We were driving. Would have likely scored a TD or at least FG | 5 |
A&M | Offensive facemask on 1st down run | Would have put us 2nd & 3 from the 11. Pushed us way back. | 2 |
