I charted how many points we get per 3-minute period of all 4 of our games. It seems that we like to score in 2-period bursts. It also illustrates how scoring lulls have plagued us thusfar. If we can get over that hump, then we have a very high ceiling.

It's the lulls that kill the offense and defense and give the other team momentum.

Going 3 and out or even a quick first down and then 3 and out hurts.

We need to convert on drives/possessions.

Don't get me wrong, I love the quick strike scores, but they do need to get better at moving the chains too.

Pretty much you hit the nail on the head. I would add not allowing third and forever conversions would be a step in the right direction. So freaking demoralizing when you get an offense in third and long then allow a wide open long completion
I know it sounds like a broken record on here, but Martinez has gotta go.

Very nice analysis. It is nice to see someone use data to prove their point.

I’m at the point where he can take Banks with him. I’ve seen nothing out of him that makes me think he’s some exceptional defensive mastermind. I understand defense is going to be tougher to play with this kind of offense but still we can do much better imo.

Hell I would call Mason today to see if he was interested in coming in to coach the secondary. If at end of year you think Banks needs replacing then you have a guy already on staff and can see how he gels with the rest of the staff.

Not a bad idea at all
