You know people make money real money being an "influencer" on Social Media, so we are getting old. I think older people will follow and like. The younger, the more involved a fan will be with a recruit.A disagreement in one of the player threads led me to see if I'm just getting old or am on the right track.
Im 44 years old, and i dont have twitter...however, I have no problem at all if a kid puts out a top 5 or tweets about a visit here or asks where we at, replying back with a pic of a packed Neyland, or that short clip of Neyland at night, with the fireworks going off. Things like that. Tweeting some oranges at him or 'GBO'...something simple or Vol related hashtags. As the poster told Newt yesterday, they do want that type of interaction, and it's a very positive thing for Vol twitter to show up.This is ambiguous, which I really don't like to be, but I think it all depends on how far it goes.
It can be ok to a point, or it can be creepsville.
on gang, bruh! These days, you almost HAVE to engage with a recruit so that they "feel the love." I don't know if it makes a difference, though.
Replies that aren't just a bunch of orange emojis are kind of weird to me. Especially when the profile pic is a middle-aged dad with kids and the reply is like "u got da drip come b great on rocky top slime"
Yep..that is exactly what I meant.Im 44 years old, and i dont have twitter...however, I have no problem at all if a kid puts out a top 5 or tweets about a visit here or asks where we at, replying back with a pic of a packed Neyland, or that short clip of Neyland at night, with the fireworks going off. Trying to carry on convos or trying to get personal, or talk to them or their family members steps into creepo territory, imo.
Another thing I hate, if a kid tweets about a visit to Bama or UGA or Florida, and a Vol fan or any other fan gets into those replies. I hate it whenever I see a dirt bag dawg in the replies to a kid's visit to here. Don't do that.
I wouldn't go much further than DM'ing them your phone number and address, then letting them know they & their family have a place to stay whenever they're in town. Also, its ok to ask for their address, because you want to be more "real" by sending them hand-written letters. Surprising them by sending or posting life-size cardboard cutouts you've had blown up and made of them from a Facebook photo they shared 3 years ago is about the acceptable limit. . . Depending on the circumstances, its also ok to dm their friends and family to ask if the player has gotten your letters and homemade fatheads and to see if they've been talking about them. You could also contact their high-school to find out if they've been doing their homework and going to all their workouts and practices. . . much more than that could be approaching an unacceptable limit.
translation pleaseThis is as far as it should go. Kids eat it up. Thatâs about as much attention you need to give without it being âcreepyâ. No DMs no love letters just striaght
Up , want you to be part of volnation. Hate it , like it idc , itâs what the recruits think and obviously he didnât hate. View attachment 439679View attachment 439680
