Six months after the $787 billion economic stimulus package became law, a new poll indicates a majority of Americans don't think it's working.
Fifty-seven percent of those questioned in a USA Today/Gallup survey released Monday say the federal stimulus has had no effect on the economy so far, or has made things worse. Just over four in 10 say the stimulus has made things better.
The poll also suggests that six in 10 doubt that the stimulus package will make things better in the future, with 38 percent saying the infusion of money from Washington will have a positive effect on the nation's economy.

Ohhhhh... sorry, wrong thread :birgits_giggle:

You were thinking of the energizer bunny perhaps?

It's working for Goldman Sachs pretty well, they have made a record setting mark of $1 million per day profit for months.

Reminds me of the analyst who was asked to examine how Bernie Madorff's business could make steady profits no matter what the market did.

He came to the conclusion; "The only logical answer is that he is running a Ponzi scheme."

Get as much done as possible while the Dems have a majority.

they're trying that, but like Clinton discovered in the 1990's and Bush from 01-06, single party rule looks good on paper, but it never works out in practice.

is this not starting to look like Clinton all over again? First shot at healthcare, don't ask/don't tell, etc.

The 'pedophile protection act' makes 'don't ask/don't tell' look like child's play.

Wait, maybe that isn't a good sounding analogy. :ermm:

Well, isn't several of his appointments repeats from Clinton's, plus the missy. The grand scheme of his breath of fresh air platform.

I've thought this for several months. The events of this year so far seem to be setting 2010 up as another 1994. But I'm not sure who's going to be the Newt Gingrich to lead the revolution this time around though.
