After the Auburn loss at home, Tennessee dropped 8 or 9 spots.

So why is it that after tennessee beats Georgia at their home Tennessee Moves up 4 spots and Georgia only falls 5 spots.

Tennessee Should be at least 10th and Georgia should have fell out of the top ten.

Just my View Point.

we'll be all right. always harder to climb back up the polls after a loss, let alone nat'l televised game. We take care of our business and by the end of the year we will make it back up. Too early to worry about poll position..... purely my opinion.

Especially when you Saw how espn reported the game on college gameday final which most of your polsters in the rest of the country get there news. They made it appear that it was a close game right down till the end.

I saw that. Didn't they only show Georgia's last TD and then their last drive? I don't think they showed any of our TD's.

IMHO opinion if you look at the final stats it doesw look like a very close game, Tennessees Prevent gave up way tomany yards in the fouth.

if the pollsters could see the stats of the game by quarter or read articles by Journalist that witnessed the beating then it would have been a different story

I've watched highlights from other sources than ESPN (have yet to watch the game), as well, including the Fulmer show, and it did look like a close game. I was biting my nails and sweating bullets during the entire duration of the final Georgia drive.

ESPN's highlights of the game were crap! They showed nothing but UGA's last TD and the last drive! No TN highlights or the great D we played.

Greene only had 44 passing yards for the game leading up to those final 2 drives. And of course with a 19-7 lead, the Vols sat back and gave a bunch of underneath stuff.... let the clock run. After Wilhoite missed a 51-yard field goal attempt that would have iced the game with 08:44 left on the clock... the Dawgs had to convert 3-of-4 on 3rd down and then the 4th-and-goal just to score and pull within 19-14. That ran 04:22 off the clock. The Vols were able to run another 02:10 off the clock in 3 plays before punting. There was only 02:12 left on the clock when the Dawgs began their last drive. On the last drive, the Dawgs converted 3-of-4 3rd downs and one 4th down as they slooowly inched down the field... eating time. In all, of Georgia' 265 yards for the game... 135 yds were on their final two drives. Basically, the Dawgs generated more offensive yards in the last 8 minutes of the game than they had for the rest... but they also ran out of time....

Milo - I don't know what the heck Tnvolfan68 was watching - Not sure what everybody else's definition of a close game is, but 19-14 with the losing team driving in the final seconds is close enough for me.

You know the sad part is if MR had any time management he wouldn't have let 19 seconds run off the clock after TN fell shirt on 3-1. Can you imagine the hoopla of how great georiga was if they had pulled that one off.

That's something nobody is really talking about. GA really screwed the pooch with their clock management at the end. Hindsight is 20/20, but they could have had 3 or 4 shots at the end zone if they had played their cards right.

And don't forget Fred Gibson catching a 5 yard hitch and deciding to turn it up field rather than step out of bounds on the last drive. They just weren't thinking.

Also, don't forget the officials giving that strange timeout for the measurement on 3rd-and-a-long-one that stopped the clock for Georgia too! It was very obvious that a measurement was not needed. I think the officials gave Richt his 10 seconds back. And what was it with stopping the clock with 1 second, the receiver did not make it out of bounds??

Well I was just glad Spurrier was not calling the shots on that final GA drive. I had a bad feeling in my gut that whole drive, but we made it!

You have to admit the SEC officiating this season has been herendous. Form the stupid Celebration calls, personal fouls out ofd bounds no holdong calls. Can it get any worse.

sure it can...inavertent whistles at a beneficial time from a home cookin ref who needs to double up his 50 dollar bet against the vols!

Listen I'm not saying the final score wasn't close what i was trying to infer was that if you look at the stats for the game thru three qaurters it wasn't that close. Remember Tennessee had A lead that GA would have to Score two TD's. A preevnt defense is not that hard to moe against. Three Quarters and as many thought the number one team in the country had amased 130 yrds of total offense the great Georgia running bask had an impressive 56 yrds on the groound and Greene had an awesome 48 nyrd thru the air... That is my point

On this paticular Saturday Tennessee was the more dominant team and as the polls should reflect how are the teams as of right Now not where they think they will be.

College football News is IMHO opinion so far the onlhy poll that takes that into consideration.

Ref's are always going to make bad calls. It just depends on which team your pulling for that makes the difference.Life is not perfect. Some of these ref's do need to find another profession though.

the funny thing is that the ref gig is part time. all the refs actually do have another profession. even the NFL

Yes, the NFL is the only professional league I know that uses part-time refs.
