Pollster says election could end in landslide | democratandchronicle.com | Democrat and Chronicle

The presidential election might be a tight race now, but one of the country’s top pollsters thinks the race will end in an electoral landslide.

John Zogby, president of Zogby International, told a group of businesspeople today that it’s up to Democratic Sen. Barack Obama to convince voters to go with him. If he’s not successful, the country will likely vote for “a comfortable old shoe”, that being Republican Sen. John McCain.

Despite the books Obama has written, Americans are still asking, “Who are you, where are you from?,” Zogby said.

Zogby spoke at the College at Brockport’s Business Briefings breakfast series at the college’s MetroCenter campus on St. Paul Street. He was promoting his new book, The Way We’ll Be: The Zogby Report of the Transformation of the American Dream.

Thoughts?

Is anyone thinking that Barry Obama might just be the Bill Buckner of politics???

9 months ago, all Obama had to do was continue to smile and kiss babies and he was on his way to winning the White House comfortably. He has now gaffed his way into a situation in which McCain might blow him out in electoral votes.

In fairness, John McCain could get clobbered as well.

Zogby isn't saying who he thinks will win in a landslide, just that Obama needs to make Americans more comfortable with him in order to do so. (See Reagan 1980). Here are four most likely scenarios, IMO:

1. Obama wins narrowly.
2. McCain wins narrowly
3. Obama in a landslide.
4. McCain in a landslide.

I hate to bring it up, but isn't that 4 scenarios?

Well, in fairness to Buckner, the ball did bounce off the base in a weird fashion.

I would like McCain to win in a landslide just to hear the Michael Baisden show the day after.

Who is Barry Obama? Are you referring to Barrack Hussein Obama, the Democrat running for President?? I understand that he used to be called Barry but insisted upon Barrack, the arabic formal name given him by his Islamic father.
