I grew up LOVING bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, STP, and Alice in Chains, but I have never gotten Soundgarden. Chris Cornell's voice just drives me crazy. I can hear that it's unique and I understand that a lot of people dig it, I just don't for whatever reason.

Agree about lynrd skynrd(not sure how to spell it, don't care). Freebird is the redneck anthem.

A couple of their albums hit gold and platinum in the US and Canada.

They're popular enough.

I also hate Great White and most other '80's hair metal. Great White had a shot with a song like "Shot In The Dark" but crap like "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" is what made them popular.

Man, some of the bands listed in here are my all-time favs, specifically Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine.

When Cornell came over to front the remaining members and formed Audioslave I never thought it would work. Yet, "Cochise" is quite possibly one of my favorite tunes, especially the intro...good stuff.

I saw Rage and Soundgarden in concert. Rage in, like, '96 or '97 at Starwood and Soundgarden in '96 at Municipal.

'96 Soundgarden is still the best concert I've ever been to, and the loudest. My ears were ringing for two days afterwards.


Oh...and the most popular band I don't like: KISS.

I "appreciate" Springsteen and the E Street Band, especially for the passion they put in their music and concerts. One of the best songwriters ever.

That said, never really been a huge fan either.
