Wanting to buy one for the house. Anybody have any good recs? My buddy has the beats pill and it's okay but expensive.

it's pretty good
we bought from best buy, and they were like 65-70 bucks

when I googled Amazon, I was surprised it showed $27

It's has kind of a rubbery outside, so it's nice in the golf cart

My daughters been using it, and when I got the golf cart, I looked at the Bose Mini, and and a Motorola version, but the Bose looked to nice to get banged up sitting in the console of a golf cart and wasn't sure about the Motorola, although it had a lower profile so it would ride better, but in the end, I just put the Zooka in there and have been pleased

Sounds like the best choice for a golf cart, for sure. I wouldn't recommend the Mini for golf. :)

I've heard both the Logitech Mini Boombox and the Bose Soundlink Mini.

Both have surprising sound for their sizes, obviously you get a bolder, deeper sound from the Bose compared to the Logitech but at a steeper price. I do like the Bose sound quality though.

For what it's worth CNet just did an updated article 7 days ago on wireless bluetooth speaker recommendations.

I've got two at the moment, and that's taken some restraint. For some reason, I've gotten in to these little speakers, and any time I'm out it seems like I've found another one I'd like to have.

First is a Monster Clarity HD. I think its been discontinued, but you can still find it around for about 50 bucks. Works great, pairs easy. Its not going to blast you with sound (it fits in the palm of your hand), but its great for listening at your desk, on the porch/deck, that sort of thing. The sound is incredibly clear. I use it when having a drink on the deck, in my office, etc.


The other is the Ecoxgear Ecoxbt. My wife got it for me at Christmas (I think on sale around $60) but you can find them anytime for about $90. I LOVE that speaker. Sounds perfectly fine for what I'm listening too. Battery outlasts me, no issues pairing. Its waterproof and well protected...mine's had a rough life and barely shows a scratch. Damn thing will float. I've used it as a shower radio, had it all over the lake, took it to the beach, etc. The shape makes it easy to strap to/hang on to/tie down on anything (I've done backpacks, coolers, tailgate, Kawasaki Mule, golf cart, etc). I use it constantly. Can't say enough good about it.

Best friend has a Soundfreq SQF-04 Sound-Kick. We listen to it when we smoke cigars at his house. Great sound, better bass than either of my smaller/more portable speakers. I think they're around $90-100.


There are tons of great options out there. Its amazing what you can get for less than $125 right now. Even some of the $25-30 options are really good.

I also have the Soundfreaq Sidekick SFQ-04. Very good sound, collapsable sound chamber and you can also charge your device on the go using the built in battery.

For the price, this is a decent little speaker. Perfect for the work desk.

I have a Logitech Ultimate Ears Boom. Sounds amazing, better than Bose, because its has a fuller sound. ie wider range. Also up to 15 hr battery life & is Water Resistant!!! $179.
