Supposedly a lot of players at big schools will declare for the portal after they go through spring practice and don’t see enough playing time at their current schools.
If we could ONLY get one player that we saw as a for sure starter, what position would you want that to be?
I’d say CB.

Transfering after spring ball puts the vast majority of players at risk of being set back even more if they transfer to a school and miss all that time. This is an example of when the portal could be bad for a player. Starting position competitions go deep into summer camp and right up to the season starting.....

I think we will see less transfers after spring this year. My logic is based on post spring transfers will have hard time getting playing time at new school for most cases. There will be some names pop up esp in QB where the loser of the battle moves on but other positions can probably wait it out till end of season.

Last year the post-spring portal window was kind of disappointing honestly, not near as many potential difference makers as expected. I think this current window in January will probably be hotter again this year.
