A quote from LaDarrell McNeil on the coaching staff.

McNeil noted the work ethic of his new position coach.

"He likes to work, and that's my type of my dude," he said. "The bond with this staff is much stronger, but we've still got a lot to go through. It was kind of the same with the staff last year. They had to get a feel for us and we had to get a feel for them, but the bond this year is much stronger."

I like what I'm hearing from the players.

Anyone want to post some of the positive things they've heard from the players?

The players love this staff... they can actually talk to their head coach.

The coaches love this staff. They all listen to each other and have open minds about new ideas/approaches.

It's refreshing.

Was going to say..There is a new attitude on the hill. That is not true though.

There is an old attitude returning to the hill. It just has new faces.

I for one am glad to see it.

This staff may not be star studded, but they have worked together for years and have a cohesiveness and chemistry that obviously is conducive of fostering team work & "family" in the players. You can't coach players that don't "buy in" and these guys have the buying in part down pat. Now let's see if they can teach football. CBJ's winning record tells me he can.

I think when you have a head coach that would run through a wall for his players and Tennessee as a whole it makes it easy for the players to buy in. Everything is changing. The Tennessee Depression is over.

If this staff has been refreshing form the fans perspective (outside looking in) I can't imagine what it is like for the players and others on the inside.

I think the players should keep their mouths closed and not say anything positive about the staff. They haven't proven anything on the field yet and until they win a national championship nothing positive shall be said. Even if the coaches do lead the team to a national championship or two, it should be noted that it was probably just dumb luck or due to someone else's hard work or because they would have won the championship anyway no matter who the coach was.........

Let's try to keep a lid on these good vibes.

Here are just a few, in their own words, from Hurd, Kelly and Wharton ....

"The first time I visited with the new staff (Feb. 16), it clicked with me and I knew that Tennessee is where I wanted to be," Hurd told 247Sports' Gerry Hamilton.

"I loved what Coach Jones did at Cincinnati," Wharton said. "He recruited me for over a year there and Cincinnati was one of my top schools just because of the coaching staff. For me, it wasn't necessarily about the school. When I found out Auburn had an opening and Arkansas had an opening and Tennessee had an opening, I was thinking, 'Man, if Coach Jones goes to an SEC school, I'd probably go where he goes.'"

"Before the new staff got here, I was worried about [the program's lack of recent success]," Kelly said. "I like Coach Jones a lot. They recruited me more than the other staff did. I really appreciated that as soon as they got there, they stopped at my school first. I think it was like the next day."

"I really wanted to go to UT," Hurd said. "Last year, they werenÂ’t in such a good position for me to go there, but with Coach (Butch) Jones and the new staff, I think itÂ’s the best place for me to go."

Wharton's quote is awesome. I'm glad we got Coach Jones. I was ticked at first, but man. He is definitely the right man for the job thus far.
