i read a thread on here last night talking about 2010 and i got to thinking, screw '10 what about '09. if tennessee doesnt meet expectations and eithers goes nit or just 1 or 2 rounds into the ncaa tourney then i think tyler stays. i know his numbers are better this year but by the end of the year i dont think they will, and i think any scout that has watched him realizes he doesnt have much of a nba game for his size. so think about if, we lose childress and gain kenny hall, and bring evryone back and possible daniel west. this team with another year under their belt plus a whole off season of playing and working together could be scary good. pearl could really focus on their quickness, shooting, and defense and really make them a much betterall around team. im not writing off thisyears team because i do think they will get it together but i was just imagining the possibilites.

We're not going to be much better next year, sorry. Tyler is leaving no matter what any experts say about his game or how obvious it is to ALL of his another year could do him good. He's like 5 years removed from high school already - if he can't shoot from the permiter now - why would he get any better?

It's not a matter of what's best for him in the long run - it is the fact he has a good and its all about the $$$ now. You probably can also bet on Wayne Chism leaving considering he filled out the draft papers last year to test the waters (which you can only do once and still return to school) - so read between the lines - Chism wants to come out this year if he can - and he's been playing well.

2009 isn't looking any better.

Smith MIGHT be a second round pick. He's tough, plays hard, fairly athletic--but he doesn't have the offensive skills (handle and shot) to be a 2 or a 3--and those are the only positions he could play at the next level. I hope he proves us wrong.

i honestly think that if tyler continues to play this year like he is that he will stay his senior year. he will see he needs to drastically improve his offense, and stay another year and work on that.

He has a son. He will not be staying.

You're missing the point. We're all well aware he's not playing NBA-like this year. But there is a thing outside of basketball called life and he has to do what is best for him.

i understand and get that yes he has a kid and family to supposrt but OBVIOUSLY rising his stock is more important to him or he would have gone last year. Instead of going last year (when he was projected as a mid-late 1st round pick) he chose to come bak to improve his stock. So why would he leave this year when his stock has decreased and he actually faces a legitimate risk of not being picked up by ay team. I know that seems funny, but if he continues to play like he did last night NOBODY will pick him up he will end up like jajuan. I believe he would probably choose t bust his butt andwork alot harder than he apparently did and realize next years team can be better than this years team and that would help imrove his stock because there would be other scorers besides him and wayne.

His stock wasn't higher last year than it is now. Not sure where you're getting that. The draft was a lot deeper last year. He will get picked highest if he comes out this year rather than last year or next (assuming he doesn't completely transform his game and have some ridiculous year if he were to come back).

Just because he could afford (financially) to come back last year - what makes you think he can do the same this year?

Lol - Austin Daye. 1st of all - a good portion of the guys you have listed that aren't underclassmen probably won't even come out. And I'm fairly sure you copy and pasted some from some cheap draft site that actually had him outside the top 25 - when a majority of the others don't. Most I've seen have him 19-27... but they also have some retarded ones ahead of him in each of them like AJ Ogilvy and others I don't remember off the top of my head.

Congrats. I googled them too before I posted. Over half had him inside the top 25... and the other half had him 26... 27 minimum and they had a lot of reaches in there. Ex. Austin Daye and Patrick Patterson - I don't think PP comes out this year. And Cole Aldrich? Doubt he leaves either.

These are PROJECTIONS. If you can honestly say he won't be drafted in the top 25 then you're just reaching and have a personal agenda.

i located 1 that had him top 25 and it was at 22. And IT WAS A PRESEASON FROM THIS YEAR therefore not taking into consideration the down year that he is having. Also, as you said this draft is worse than last years so by you theory him being drafted 22,23,24,25,26,27,28 or right in there is A DOWN GRADE OF TOP 20 that he received last year. So with a worse draft this year than last and a lower ranking then he received last year then HIS STOCK HAS GONE DOWN. Which was what this whole arguement was, you said his stock has rose as ive said it has declined and i have clearly shown you it has indeed DECLINED.

You know very well what I meant. Stock isn't purely based on his level of play. Stock has many variables - and that's why I brought up the weaker draft. And I NEVER said his stock rose. I said it isn't any worse than last year. People are taking into consideration he's getting no help compared to what he had last year in Jajuan and Lofton and is still managing to put up pretty good numbers with horrid guard play - not to mention the 3-point line being moved back.

I took into consideration the class of the draft so like i said...If he went last year he would be between 12-20 they said but regardless top 20. This year would be AROUND 25 maybe one or two higher or lower. If he played this year as he did last year then by your theory with the weaker draft class he would be probably a top 10 pick but atleast a top 15. We all know he is not anywhere close to that, so therefore his stock has declined and he would have benefited more from coming out last year, and will benefit more from staying another year(unless he starts playing incredbile) and trying to improve his game and raise his stock in next years draft.

Once again Austin Daye, Dejuan Bliar, and PP... 3 huge questions marks at this point. No way Daye leaves unless he's an idiot. PP being the most likely.

And lol at the notion that one game against a bad defense raises Marcus Thornton's and Chris Johnson's stock - if you believe that then you have no business trying to argue any of this.

MOCK drafts, man. I'll say it again - you can't honestly say at this point you know for a fact he won't get drafted in the top 25 unless you have a personal agenda here.

Wtf - he would not have been a lottery pick last year. Where the heck did you pull that crap from? That must be why you're confused here.

The reason he didn't go was because of the fact his stock wasn't high enough. If he were projected 12-15 he would have been gone - no question about it.

No but im looking at chris johnson being one of the better big men in the sec now, and thornton as having a legit shot at sec p.o.y between him and meeks probably. I was just saying that after seeing them i didnt mean simply one game would change the stock. And same to you though, you cant honestly say that you know that tyler would be taking top 25. im going by what i saw and the majority said out of the top 25, and the point being that that is lower then last years projection. THEREFORE HIS STOCK HAS DECLINED!

No it isn't man. Sorry. He was not projected that highly last year. Early in the year there was talks of him being a borderline lottery pick but that was mainly just local media hype.

And when I googled it I looked at 5 sites. 2 had him in the top 25 and 3 had him #26 and #27. And they all (including the ones with him in the top 25) had a bunch of questionable picks in there.
