It's not even that impossible:

UGA loses to Bama Saturday in Tuscaloser
Vandy loses to UF Saturday in Nashville
UT beats on Saturday in TBA

We own the tie breaker to all 3 teams because of our W/L records against the other tied teams.

It's not a lock by any means, but we can hope to walk into the back door of a #2 Seed.

First thing's first... take care of our own business. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

How is it decided if Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee and Vandy are all tied in the SEC? We've split with GA and KY and have beat Vandy twice....how would that work?

Best record among the tied teams
E2) Tennessee would be 4-2
E3) UK would be 3-3 with a better divisional record than Vandy
E4) Vandy would be 3-3 with a worse divisional record than UK
E5) UGA would be 2-4.

so if vandy wins at home and uga wins...then ut will be the 4 seed and uk the 5 seed after we beat them?

I believe we would be the 5 seed.

Correct. We would have the same divisional record (6-4) as UK. The next tiebreaker is the record against the #1 team in the East. UK is 1-1 vs UF, and we're 0-2. They'd be the 4 and we'd be the 5.

Lets say either 1 vandy or UGA loses and we win do we get the 3 or 4??? haha kinda confusing

If we beat UK, UF beats Vandy, but UGA wins at Bama, then UGA is the 2, UT would be the 3, UK the 4, and Vandy the 5. UGA would be the 2 seed b/c they would have the 2nd best SEC record. It would be a 3-way tie between UK, Vandy, and UT. UT would be the 3 (b/c we'd be 3-1 versus UK and Vandy), UK would be the 4 (2-2), and Vandy would be the 5 (1-3).

If we win, UGA loses, and Vandy wins, then Vandy would be the 2 seed (w/ the 2nd best SEC record) UK would be the 3 seed, we would be the 4, and UGA would be the 5. Because the UT, UK and UGA would have the same 2-2 record against each other, and the next tie breaker is record versus the #1 team in the East. UK is 1-1 vs UF, while UGA and UT are 0-2. Then you break the tie between UGA & UT using the 2-team tie rules. We split head to head, but UT has the better East record, so we would get the 4 and UGA would get the 5.

However, none if this will matter if we don't win on Sunday. Go Vols!

Depending on the draw, I wouldn't mind us NOT having a bye in order to (hopefully) snag another one for the W column. I can see us getting a bye and exiting the tournament with a loss and nothing else.

A win vs. LSU or Auburn is worthless and actually hurts our SOS. We don't need that. A first round bye is definitely the best case scenario.

I'd like to think that UF can beat Vandy on the road, but the entire SEC has trouble there and we have flat out been miserable in that weird joint they call a gym. I am not optimistic.

I'd love to be wrong, but florida isn't beating vandy.

They accomplished their goal by beating bama and have little to play for. Vandy is a good team playing at home in that god forsaken gym on senior day.

Don't see it happening

Yeah... I think Vandy wins it.

The 3 seed isn't a bad draw. We'd get the loser of the Aub/LSU game tomorrow, and then Miss St. Only issue is being on the same side of the bracket as Florida. The 4 seed would be against winner of Aub/LSU and then Bama. Not terrible either. Gets worse with the 5.

I disagree a little. A win against LSU/AU/Miss/Ark would help us. SOS wouldn't change much, plus the next game would be against a higher SOS team than the game we would have as a #2, so that is a wash.
But win against Kentucky, then that win becomes # 20, which is significant in many peoples mind.
We beat Kentucky, and end up with the 3rd or 4th seed, we could be looking at playing AL or Miss St to go to Semis. Very winnable games. Now you are talking 21-13 if we lost in Semis. Not too bad.
Now if we get the second seed, and then loose to SC (hard to beat a team 3 times, but still unlikely), we finish 19-13.
I think each scenario has some advantages/disadvantages for us, but the 2nd seed would be nice, and obviously gives us the best chance to win the tourney.

And to avoid the 5, we need a win and a loss by either Georgia or Vanderbilt. We win any tiebreaker involving Vandy. Georgia loses any tie-breaker in which they're involved.

If we win out, meaning win vs Kentucky and either 3 or 4 wins in the tourney.
23 and 12 or 22 and 12 and SEC tourney champs. Is 5 a possibility? Is 6? Would likely include wins over FLA,AL, and possibly Kent/Vandy in the tourney.
I think a 6, doubt a 5. What say you?

Judging by previous seedings by the comittee.. We will be lucky to get a 6 at the highest.
