I remember there being a lot of talk about a possible rule change to slow the game down where the offense gets a penalty for basically doing a hurry up offense. I thought I remembered that they were voting on whether or not to implement that rule for this upcoming season. I also remember that Nicky was a supporter of the rule (probably because his teams have more trouble stopping those teams). I've not heard much of anything about this recently. Anyone have an update?

The Air Force coach was in charge of the committee that created the proposal; they (or he, I forget how it went) decided to drop the proposal rather than vote on it.

The one rule I heard they may be adopting is where on the body you can legally hit a QB.....like the NFL rule, not above the shoulders nor below the knees.

GREAT! Put Hurd as QB with Worley and Dobbs behind him in the Backfield. Can't touch that!!!

Guess not, huh?

Bieliema somehow became the face of the proposal (even though we know it was Nicky 's baby) and proceeded to link the increased number of plays in a hurry up offense to the death of a Cal player during practice...for some reason they dropped the proposal. :dunno:

The slow up issue is settled, the larger issue facing the 2a is the Power Five self governance .
