The TV here mentioned but didn't show that our fans stood and cheered our Vols as they left the field. Folks who were at the game, please describe this for we who weren't there. I'm a person who always believe we should support our players, often to an extreme I must admit. Such as giving much benefit of doubt for those who get themselves into trouble. So when I get wind of fans exhibiting support for our players even in a game we lost, it just gives me chills and expands me with pride, Vol Pride. So please describe this. I'm hoping some channel shows this but until then. . . .

Yeah there were. I thought the UGA fans cheering were louder, which is to be expected.

Last night was the loudest that stadium has been since the unveiling of the black jerseys against South Carolina. I realize there was a reason for it but the crowd stayed in the game the entire time. As the team exited the field the entire side of the stadium, I'm not sure which end zone that is, gave them a loud and long standing ovation before exiting the game. It was pretty awesome

Vast majority of fans were still at their seats as the team came over to the north endzone. The team got a standing ovation as they headed to the locker room. It was well deserved, this fan base is so hungry for a big win and one is right around the corner hopefully.

It was amazing. It's been a long time since I've ever heard the stadium that loud. That was loud loud. Post game behavior of the fans was one of the best things that could've happened. It was truly awesome. I've never felt so much pride towards a team, and that was after a loss. I cannot imagine how loud it would have been if we won. Afterwards most people that left, left with a warm feeling, and a little pissed about the questionable touchdown call that swayed the game.

I understand why Vols fans are proud of their players. Those guys left it all on the field and were heart broken at the end.

The camera caught a guy (Sapp, I believe) crying as he was leaving the field.

I am proud of our guys hanging in there but also have a lot of respect and admiration for the effort the UT players put out there.

I was at the game and its true. The crowd stood and gave the vols a round of applause for their effort. I also noted that I didn't hear one negative comment about the team or the game from anyone. Look Pig was trying to make a play and that's all anyone can ask. They came together as a team last night and I truly believe that we will beat South Carolina in two weeks. Go Vols..!!

Not only cheered them off the field but chanted it's great to be a Tennessee vol as we walked out

Darn you, jordan4vols! I appreciated the posts that described the event but yours made me cry. A full grown man and one my age? Oh come on! But it's a fact I cried and am still wiping tears away. Glad no one is around to see some weepy-eyed guy carrying on like this. If there was, if there was I'd probably tell them to go to hail, or wherever it is they go to get their heads bashed in by either iceballs or fireballs.

It wasn't just me chanting it. It was an entire concourse walking out chanting it. It literally was echoing

I hope the players noticed this through what had to be a state of shock after the heartbreak. Those kids deserved to have the fans appreciation after that effort. Way to go Vol fans.

Thank you for the kind words it was a well played ball game from both teams. It is tough to loss that way but it is just another step in the right direction.

Jordon4vols described it well. Everyone locked to the end, cheered the Vols as the left the field and it took at least another hour to get out of the parking lots. Even people in the store buying more stuff on the way out.

Great showing by the fans for the recruits - haven't seen it like that for a full game in nearly 3 years or more.

There was also an awesome story last night that I think was on scout. Was saying that Pig was about to walk out the tunnel to leave the stadium but saw all the fans and kind of stopped and put his head in his hands. Azzanni came up to him, patted him on the back, and told him it would be alright. Pig walked out of the tunnel and all the fans broke out into a big cheer and started clapping for him. The story said it put a grin on his face.

Yes, we all stood and applauded their effort, few left after the game.

All the talk on VOLNATION and talk shows about supporting the team regardless and not booing--the recruits being there--it could have been a difference maker. There was some grumblers behind me (not loud) but most of the fans during the first half just kept hanging in there. Once they started making their comeback, it was insane. I have been to many games in my years, and this ranks right up their with the best crowd noise, support. VERY PROUD of team and fans.

ETA: Don't know if it was from yelling or crowd noise but my ear is still hurting. :)
