Same ole thing. Turnovers and shooting the ball poorly. Get the ball inside where you have the height and force the defense to make plays. South Carolina coming up and gotta wonder if the LVs will wake up in time.

So which one are you rooting for?

Unfortunately, many of the Lady Vols' turnovers occur when they are trying to pass the ball to the post players, which other teams expect the LV's to do. The TN guards need to penetrate more often to draw the defensive players and then pass to the post players.

Yeah. Instead of worrying about the final score and whether or not we win, I am just concentrating on the positives of the stats. I am most proud of us holding em to only 7 three pointers. That is only 21 points. No teams can beat you with just a 21 point total. We also brought our turnovers down. We only had 16 today, and if you takeaway those two we had when it was close in the final minute or so, that's just 14. I'm seeing improvement! Go vols!

Dribble penetrating usually is done when you want to kick the ball out. Occasionally you can find a post player open but its difficult to pass to a post player when your penetrating. IMO one way to get the ball inside is to set up a pick and roll. Another is to spread the offense and allow your post player room to get position on her defender. JMO .

You have a better idea for getting the post players open. Would like someone to tell the post players to not try to dribble the ball in the paint - ball was stolen or tied up too many times by Missouri's defense. The LV post players need to learn to pivot and shoot the ball when they are so close to the basket. JMO.

They have a road game against LSU on Thursday before the South Carolina game so that's what they should be focused on i mean it would be nice for them to get the win over there and maybe use that as momentum going into Sunday's showdown against the Gamecocks.

I have a feeling that the LadyVols will lose to LSU and USC and sleepwalk to a 22-7 regular season record. I just don't get the feeling the team is well coached.

Roddo, why not discount all 16 turnovers. That way, there would be none!! Also, please remove my girlfriend's photo from your avitar. :)

I agree with you on this team not being well coached. Also Izzy will have her hands fill with 6-4 Alaina Coates and 6-4 Elem Ibiam and we all know Izzy has had a problem with foul trouble.

If we can stay out of foul trouble and everyone has a chance to contribute, I'm going to predict an 8 point win for the Lady Vols. While I respect what South Carolina has done, they lost to an inconsistent North Carolina team and pretty much have 0 signature wins unless you want to count the win over UK when they were ranked 9. Also, 6 of their 13 wins in the SEC were by 10 points or less including a loss to a team we beat by 21.

I think the game is ours for the taking especially since we are the "underdog". I think that'll be extra motivation to really take care of business. The only wild card I'm worried about is the officiating, which feels like we've been on the short end and this is an away game.

But, if the game is called both ways and we don't have players riding the bench for extended minutes because of fouls, I definitely like our chances.

But, let's beat LSU first! :)

We play SC at TBA, clkou so hopefully we can take advantage being at home! But agree...gotta go get some revenge at LSU first! They have really fallen off so a loss to them (again) would be killing!

Why did I think we played SC on the road? Well, with that in mind, we really need to stick it to them ... after LSU! :)
