Potential 7 Top 25 Wins

Hopefully USCJr will stay ranked in the top 25 when we play them. It will give us 7 games and 7 potential top 25 Wins for this season. How many other teams can say 3/4 of their schedule were top 25 teams when they played them.?
Not many. TCU does have a few games coming up that could be ranked, but it's still not SEC competition.

-- UGa will probably end the regular season having played just three top 25 teams.
-- Ohio State and Michigan the same. Three each (which includes each other).
-- Clemson probably three, too. Right now it looks like four, but we get to USCe before they do, so the Gamecocks will be unranked for them.
-- TCU will have played four.
-- Bama will have played five. But of course, they lost to one of those five (*cheshire cat grin*).

I don't think any of the undefeated teams come close to our strength of schedule. We're rocking the free world. Let's keep the show going right into December!

Go Vols!

The problem is Big 10 politics and ACC politics and Big12 politics, and our brand not being Bama or Georgia will be the reason we're kept out unless we win the SECCG. If people voted teams in based on who they truly thought were the best teams in College Football, there would be 3 SEC teams without anyone doubting that decision.

We don't need to make playoffs to have a great season. We have already had a great season and are looking to finish over our expectations.

Playoffs or Atlanta would be just icing on the cake for a great season so far for our program.
I completely agree. I mean our season so far and performance this year has been leaps and bounds above what I thought we would do. I knew we would be better but man it far better than expected.

Does it really even matter for SOS purposes what teams were ranked when you play them if they aren't ranked at the end? Should Ohio State be able to crow about beating "Top 5" Notre Dame to the Committee? Hell no. All that will matter is who you beat that actually turned out to be good.
