This seems as "much to do about nothing" to me; however, it made the news so I want my fellow members of VolNation to be aware and share thoughts. Evidently some player reached out to Tennessee before entering the portal. News outlet claims "The Tennessee football program is in some big trouble." That sounds like overblowing things big time to me. Check out the article if ya like.

The Tennessee football program is in some big trouble

Level III: Breach of conduct
Violations that are isolated or limited in nature; provide no more than a minimal recruiting, competitive or other advantage; and do not include more than a minimal impermissible benefit.

Sounds like he's really overselling this

Level 3 violation and punishment has already been served... This type of stuff will be ridiculously difficult/impossible to monitor.

So, the kid called UT, not the other way around. Heupel is supposed to hang up on the kid apparently. This is ridiculous. Meanwhile, there are players that are committing to new schools the same day they enter the portal. I'm sure there has been ZERO contact there though.

Let's see:

Girl: Ring, Ring

Boy: Hello

Girl: Will you go out with me?

Boy: Who is this?

Girl: I saw you on TV

Boy: Can you tell me about yourself?

Girl: I have a boyfriend, but I am leaving him, I just haven't told him

Boy: I'm not intersted

Girl's former boyfriend: Ring, Ring

Boy: Hello

Girl's former boyfriend: I hear you were talking to my former girlfriend. You are in a little trouble!

I may have misread, but Josh didn't take the call. One of his assistants did. But JH is the boss, so it doesn't matter. The assistant should have hung up immediately rather than talking and texting with the player. Hmm, not sure if it is even a violation. The article says it was a high schooler implying he wasn't committed to a college. Josh needs to get on all his assistants' booty about this kind of thing anywa.

Uncommitted HS players that are not committed don't have a need to enter the portal. You did misread or it was so poorly written it leads one to believe that he was at a school trying to get out of there and was trolling. Not much here either way.

Sounds like this article was wishful thinking from an inbred, semi-literate moronic fan of another SEC team who has more intimate encounters with farm animals than he has actual knowledge about the situation. Seriously. Scr€w that guy.

And some people still actually believe in SEC solidarity. Dear goodness. These other fanbases want us burned to the ground so we can never get back to putting them all in their place on a regular basis. I am in a “scorched earth” mindset when it comes to the rest of this conference. To he#% with every last one of them (until Texas joins . . . I like them since I’ve lived there so much over the years . . . . but they are a DISTANT second.)

This story was on the front page of today's Knoxville News Sentinel.

After former coach Pruitt and his staff committed 18 Level 1 violations, this is just a blip on the screen.

Sounds like the KNS doesn't know who plays in Knoxville....as if they're not big fans of a certain University...call Kane to burn them to the ground!! Really tho, why would the hometown newspaper put this garbage on the front page as if commiting treason?

I have been saying for years the media has gone to hell in a hand basket. I no longer subscribe to a newspaper, much less the KNS. I believe John Adams still tries to write for them so you know how bad they are.

I am confused - the report said it was the high school coach of the player - not the player and not a high school player.
