Or an Amish Energy secretary. Or a high school drop-out Education secretary. Or an obese surgeon general. Or... Well, you get the idea.

Yep, the economic team is shaping up real nicely. One guy was Chairman of the Board of CitiGroup as it was driven into the ground - the other is a tax evader and hires illegal immigrants.

CHANGE!

not to mention a "climate czar" that's an avowed socialist

And was cited for contempt of court for erasing her computer records in violation of a court order after using her office to promote special interest group agenda.

(read global warming tsar.)

WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama labeled the tax problems of his choice for Treasury chief an embarrassment Wednesday, but said Timothy Geithner's "innocent mistake" shouldn't bar him from the post leading urgent efforts to revive the economy. Despite the controversy, Geithner's confirmation seemed all but sure — though not by Inauguration Day.
Innocent mistake, my ass. :shakehead:

He's looking for a Fox News article so he can really pour out his righteous indignation over their inflammatory coverage of a Board of Govs member who inadvertently didn't pay his tax bill and illegally employed a maid.

We better give him a break. He is probably busy sending out his party invites for his little shindig he is throwing Tuesday night.

I can't wait for gsvol's response to lg, being a 2500 word copy & paste that is barely related to the subject at hand.

amazing, only libs like you will defend a guy who doesn't pay taxes. if it was conservative or republican, he would have been pressured to withdraw his nomination.

you libs are pathetic hypocrites.

This guy is a common thief.

Although it has been dismissed by some observers as a “hiccup” in an otherwise smooth confirmation process, treasury secretary-designate Timothy Geithner’s failure to pay self-employment taxes during the years he worked at the International Monetary Fund is causing some Republicans on Capitol Hill to ask serious questions about his actions. First among those questions is why he accepted payment from the IMF as restitution for taxes that he had not, in fact, paid.

Better that we be bigots who are lacking in the area of reading comprehension?

I fail to see where our friend "the Beast" defended anyone in his post. He merely made an accurate statement concerning gsvol's posting habits. If you disagree with that, I would love for you to point to his defense of Geithner.

I'm so happy to see the GOP bending over backwards to get this guy confirmed. In fact, they're not putting up much of a fight for any of Obama's problematic nominations.

with few exceptions, they're all a bunch of spineless pansies.

Correct. It is sickening to observe it.

What sort of cheese would you two like with your whine???

My posts indeed may far exceed either of your attention spans (no big feat in and of itself) but at least I can stay on topic without taking pot shots at other posters.

This nomination should convince anyone and everyone that Obama is just one more corrupt democrat party apparatchnik and a typical product of the most politically corrupt city in America.

Anyone who doesn't understand that has his head stuffed up his rear.

So let me get this straight. I (accurately) stated that 666 posted nothing that even resembled a defense of Geithner, and now you, along with joevol, are whining about our apparent hypocrisy in defense of this guy. Then you are whining that we just don't get it and lack the attention span to wade through the crap you post. Through all of this you come to the conclusion that I am a whiner. Good call dude, you are a freaking genius.

I just took another vote and gsvol has joined the esteemed ranks of joevol and DAVOL. Congrats.
