Potential Violation for Memphis B-Ball?

The recruiting class that Memphis fans said would be one of the best ever is going down in shambles now. Wall committed to Baylor earlier today, and their recruitment of Gaddy is likely done if this goes through.

Yeah, God forbid they only get Xavier Henry and any of the 5 other point guards they've looked at. I'm sure Cal is crushed.

Maybe he should be concerned. Any time the NCAA comes knocking at your door you should be. Not saying they have others violations, but you never know, especially when it comes to boosters.

The 'AA will make a couple of phone calls, then issue a stern "Don't do that again." Their investigators will never set foot in Memphis.

Wall's travel team coach was hired by Baylor. I read in an article that other schools also pursued the package deal.

It warms my heart to see Travis Ford get outflanked.

Bingo. I think worst case is they can't recruit the kid anymore.

I did hear that Cal "urged" Dave Bronczek (the booster in question) not to make the call. Not sure of the truthfulness of that though.

The violation is so minor and plausibly accidental that I really doubt anything will really come of this. It is a non-issue.

Yeah it looks like that issue really hurt Cal's recruitment program..Will Coleman A 6-9 265lbs. freak from the MIA signed with the 09 class yesterday.

Scott Drew is a good coach and solid guy. However, if he doesn't end up with Wall, he's going to look like a total rube.

I haven't heard anything over here in Memphis. Do you think it is still going to be Baylor?

I would be shocked if it's not. Kentucky, Memphis, and Oklahoma State think they are still in it. However, I just can't see Scott Drew hiring Dwon Clifton without 100% confidence Wall would be coming to Waco.

This is a done deal. The level on which it will be completed is undetermined (he may not end up at Baylor).

The next few years may see an eradication of these scenarios if the college coaches get their wish and see the July evaluation period go away like they want.

What is a done deal, the Clifton hire? And what do you mean by the level on which it will be completed?
