Watch, after the antitrust lawsuits are settled years from now, we (SEC) will go back to the way it was before’92 in that it will be decades before we play some of out SEC partner schools.

Anybody wanna hazzard a guess as to when the SEC and B10 finally just get tired of it all and do their own thing?

I'm gonna guess 2032.

I do know this much, UT needs to do everything in its power to remain near the top of the conference until that happens. We cannot afford another walk through the wilderness at the time when the big dogs start looking long and hard at who belongs and who doesn't

Being on the outside looking in after that inevitably happens will not be an envious position.

Not sure letting the conferences establish the rules and the enforcement will make the sport better. The big fish will break the rules, and enforce them tightly against others programs. New boss; same as the old boss.

Rotating Cross-conference games (just speculation, but thinking about it) sound cool, but two or three SEC schools would get totally screwed by getting one of the really good B1G teams and everyone else has an easier game.
I don't think I like the idea because rosters will get strained playing so many high-level games in a season.
I expect, after a few seasons of the 12 team playoff, we will see escalating injuries among the elite playoff teams with the extra games against peer programs.
Depth will help, but there may be more player discontent when enough high-profile players miss the NFL or their evaluations go down because of injuries due to more games. What is the point of making the playoffs if elite players continue to opt-out, which I suspect they will.

On the plus side,
doesn't sound like Notre Dame has a seat at the big table.

I think the scheduling changes if they cross conference would be something more B1G fans have clamored for years. An SEC team playing up north in November. You best believe they would love to see Florida or Mississippi playing in Wisconsin and Georgia in Michigan. Now SEC fans say come down south in September in out humidity and it happens some but with cross play that would be the most interesting switch imo is the timing of outside elements and the games played regionally from both conferences. Mississippi State at Rutgers etc...

Won't happen. Even if we did descend into mediocrity somewhat we still have a strong brand and that will matter because it's all about money.
