we were in Salzburg this summer. Was disappointed in the lack of Mozart things but its overwhelming on Sound of Music things.

Vienna - totally different. Go there. Just go. Prob my fav of all European cities.

We were going to Vienna last week for our annual European Christmas market trip and on the way to the airport with the kids I got the dreaded call that my stepfather had just unexpectedly passed. We then had to forget the trip and drive straight to Memphis for the funeral. Talk about highs and lows. Anyway, this trip to Salzburg is the makeup and we will have to do Vienna next year due to several logistics involving cancellations, refunds, timing etc.
I was very excited for Vienna with my kids though. 11 different Christmas markets in one city sounds amazing.
