We have a pretty decent lead over #16 == anybody think we'll drop as a result of the game last night?

I say no.

I think we will. The media has never liked UT that much. I think we'll drop but not much. Tennessee will end up at 18 or 19 unfortuanately.

I think that we will drop at least 4 spots. I think that we dropped 8 or 9 when Auburn beat us the first time. I have just given up on the polls, I am looking forward to next years team.

These are the teams below us - do you think we should drop below any of them?

17. WISCONSIN 9-2 568 18
18. VIRGINIA 8-3 411 16
19. FLORIDA 7-4 251 --
20. TEXAS TECH 7-4 208

I will bet you anything that Fla State moves up in front of us. You know how it goes with them. Wisconsin too!

Record wise, I could see Wisc but we still have a better w/l record than FSU.

yeah, but you have to factor in how much the media and pollsters love FSU and the Bowdens. If they could do it without too much scrutiny, FSU would still be in the top ten.

No doubt.

I don't think we should drop.

However, I expect the pollsters to knock us down to 18 or 19.

Which I'm sure the Cotton Bowl appreciates, trying to build up a game with a top 10 team against a 15-20 team.

I still say we beat Georgia, and lost twice to Auburn and once to ND who beat Michigan. We should be one spot in front of Georgia, and I think Georgia is ranked too high right now. We should have been a 9, 10, or 11 before the SECCG, and after should be a 12, 13, or 14. But the pollsters control everything.

I agree and have been saying all year that UGA is over-rated. That loss to Notre Dame killed us in more ways than one. Not only did we beat UGA, but they have played some very close games just like we have........Marshall, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Florida, and South Carolina.

I cant even describle how much I hate UGA!!! I really never did until this year. How the he!! can they be in the top 10? As of right now it dosent really matter if we drop or not. No one gives us the credit we deserve anyway and we always do better as the underdogs. I hope we are low in the preseason polls next year. That way they will all be shocked!!!!!!!! :p

Well, there is a shocker! The coaches poll doesn't like us? Who would have figured? Whatever, it doesn't really matter at this point anyway.

The rankings are all screwed up this year -- they make no sense, and they look more like speculation (at the end of the season!) and a popularity contest than how each team actually did.

Well, moving FSU back in front of us makes no sense. Their 3 losses were in regular season against an over-rated Miami team, Maryland and UF. That just goes to show you how much pull ole Bobby Bowden has. It is sickening.

suprise , suprise...the coaches poll sucks FSU blows, Wisconsin looks good but that still sucks

Just can't understanding moving a team down for playing an undefeated SEC champion that closely. By that logic, getting to the SECCG actually hurt us!

Time to chime in Doc regarding the poll posted. I think the loser of the SECCG is always screwed. In some instances the apparent favorite in the SECCG who has already played the winner of the other division, has nothing to win and everything to lose.

What? Something about college football rankings that doesn't make sense? That's impossible!
