Pre-Season AP Basketball Poll

Sounds about right. I figured with losing Watson and having so many Freshman that are going to be playing major minutes that we would catch the bottom of the top 25 if we were lucky.

plus, it's only the preseason poll. March is a long way away.

We will probably finish the season just outside of the Top 25, and be seeded anywhere from 7 to 9.

Trying to replace C.J. Watson, and after losing Wingate, I wouldn't have been surprised or felt disrespected if we had been left out of the top 25. Preseason polls don't mean a whole lot in college basketball, anyway.

We have one of the nation's toughest schedules as well, and shouldn't expect to go through the season without there being a few bumps along the way. Right now, I agree with one of the last posts - I could see us getting in the NCAA tourney as maybe a seven or eight seed. Hopefully they'll get in the tourney easily, and with a high seed. One thing I learned last year, though - don't ever underestimate Coach Pearl!

This is most likely reality, but you just never know with these inexperienced freshmen. They could completely bomb this year and lose 12-14 games, or they could win 22-24.

I think they will be very hot come March. However, early games against Texas, Memphis, Ohio State, and, most likely, UNC are going to be incredibly tough for a very young point point guard and post man to handle.

I think UT will develop like KU did last season.

That's about all we can hope for... improvement throughout the season. Yeah, some teams early in the season may make them look silly.

College basketball fans get your Top-25 PM'd to tclowers23 by tonight at 10:00pm, so we can have a VolNation Top-25 similar to the one they've been having for football.
