Predictions for A&M today?

Going to be fun today vs A&M

While the Aggies are one of the hottest teams right now, I think the Vols absolutely roll in this one

A&M not going to get by a really good defensive team like Tennessee that is playing with something to prove.

UT wins 82-51
I think it’s close early, but the only way Texas A&M stays in this game in the 2nd half is if we allow them to by coughing up the ball. We are good at forcing turnovers but A&M might be even better. We need to wear them down and I kinda think we need to get out and run when we can. Their legs might not be able to take a game of run and gun. Our defense needs to be locked in once again. However, I don’t think we beat them as bad as you say we will unless A&M just collapses in their 4th consecutive game. The goal wasn’t to beat Kentucky, the goal was to win a championship so I don’t think you’ll see us come out flat. I think we get over the hump this time.

Enjoy watching A&M play, but that team must be exhausted after 3 straight games. Victories over Auburn & Arky quite impressive. Vols by double digits.

I’m a little concerned after looking back through their games. They’ve played well in most conference games despite their record. They took at Arkansas to OT. They smashed at Bama a couple of weeks ago. They don’t foul much. They’ve been getting a lot of steals lately. Their 3-point production is on a tear right now. I’m glad that we have a slight advantage with having played 2 straight days versus their 3. Their scoring is very balanced. Redford is their only player that has started every game. They are small. There best scorer is a 6’5” guard (JJJ needs to stay out of foul trouble… shutting down #3 Quentin Jackson will be more important than making 3 or 4 3 pointers). Only a 6’7” forward (#15 Coleman) is a bigger regular with significant points/game for aTm. It’s also great that TN’s staff is highly competent and will come with a great game plan. Also, TN’s bench could be well rested. I haven’t checked the KY box score but it seems like Fulk and Aidoo didn’t play huge minutes. Plus it seemed like ZZ sat for a LOT of minutes. Perhaps Barnes wasn’t expecting Chandler to play too many minutes and was budgeting ZZ’s floor time for both possible games. I’m not ready to predict a TN win. If I gambled I’d take aTm and the points. And the under.

They will be a force to be reckoned with, they played a suffocating defense against a pretty good Arky team. Not to mention they scored against one of the best defenses in the conference.

I’m hoping that their shooting was simply on fahr. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were their 3 BEST performances from 3 all year. Over 50% EACH day. Better keep them off of the FT line as well or at least match them there.

If they stay hot on their 3 ball, it will be tough to beat them. They will come out with a lot of intensity, plus they are fighting for a chair at the table while we are already seated.
Stay focused, limit our scoring droughts, and hit FT's, we will win.

Go Vols!!

It won't be a blowout, but I do think we finally get over the hump and win our first tournament championship since 1979.

Now that I've said that, we probably lose by double digits.

71-67, Vols. They will be tough and wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the upset. Hopefully this goes better than the last time UT beat uk in the tournament.

I think we should take a half court approach like we did against Kentucky. Make these guys run some half court offense.

TAMU is "that team" right now. They are on fire, the are playing the highest confidence, and they have pretty much nothing to lose because no one expected them to do this.

Make no mistake, I believe this will be tough. Tennessee better be ready or we're going to leave with another disappointing end to the SECT. And there have been a ton of conference tournament upsets this time, so the Vols have no excuse not to be mentally ready for this.

You beat me to it. That’s what I noticed…the over 50% from 3 number. And Arkansas is a great defensive team. Have to hope they cool off today. I’d make them beat me inside.

I want to say we extend the lead in the 2nd half and pull away easily but TAM is attempting to go from worst to first, quite a feat. Don't know if it's been done before in this double bye format? Let's see what the double bye is worth, UT 72 TAM 66.

With their biggest player getting serious minutes being the one 6’7” guy, maybe we can actually have a rim protector while harassing the 4 guards on the perimeter.

Buzz is a great coach. He made Arkansas pay for switching, and had a plan for getting the ball inside when they switched to straight man. We’ll have to be very disciplined. They got great looks yesterday.

They started 4 guards and rotated in four others. They only scored 19 of 84 points in the paint. They destroyed Arkansas by making them pay for switching in the guards. They cut better than we do yesterday. Arkansas had plenty of size and skill advantage in the paint. It didn’t help.
