W's vs. Memphis and UK... I'm a little iffy on the Vandy game, thus iffy on the obligatory bowl game.

3 Easy wins, then a tight game with Nebraska/Missouri/ Whoever we play in the Independence Bowl.

Memphis, Vandy and Kentucky will not be easy wins. I believe that the Defense will win the Kentucky game, however, the other two games will be fights. :cross:

Go Big Orange!

Each of those teams will be gunning for us... They rarely ever beat us, and they want to be known as the team that knocked Tennessee out of bowl eligibility.

I honestly don't know if we can run the table. All we have to do is get caught napping and we're dead. Memphis has a weapon in DeAngelo Williams, Vanderbilt is above average this season, and Kentucky is Kentucky but have proven they can play decent when highly motivated (see Louisville at Kentucky from week 1).

Who could have predicted at the beginning of this season we wouldn't even be bowl eligible...

I agree with that. We win UK and Memphis. We will have WWIII on our hands with Vandy. Which leaves the question, who is the Axis and who are the Allies?

I am confident that we will win all three games. It will be tough each game but we will win and finish 6-5 (Woopee), and then have a 50-50 chance to win SOME bowl game.

After watching the games this weekend I'm confident of nothing. Vandy could take us, puttin up more than 40 on the Gators...hell Kentucky put up 27 on Auburn. As far as Memphis goes, any other time I'd say they dont stand a chance but who the hell knows?

If Tennessee only scores 48 points against those three opponents, EVERYONE involved with the offense should be run out of town immediately

tenn 34- memphis 3
tenn 38- vandy 24
tenn 35- kentucky 10

we blow out our mediocre bowl opponent.

our defense will shut these guys down and our offense will play like the comeback against notre dame.

The way it is right now, I think odds are we win only the UK game. Memphis has the All American running back (should be) and Vandy beat UF (well actually the refs stole it from them).

I hope I'm wrong but right now I don't see UT beating Vandy. I think they may get by Memphis but they can't give away 14-17 points against Vandy and have any chance of winning. Tennessee has taken some great teams into Lexington and had to fight for their life to get a win; they may beat Kentucky but if they do it will come down to the closing seconds of the game.

Yeah i agree with you. Theres about 25 yrs of fustration brewing over at vandy and kentucky. this is probably the best chance they have had in 25 years to beat us. Everyone saw how bad Vandy wanted to finally beat Florida. These guys are going to be motivated. Not to mention vandy may be playing to be bowl elgible, for the first time in maybe 25 years.

Judging by the Peach Bowl debacles, I think it will be hard for UT to get motivated for any of these last games.

Memphis Vs UT: UT 24-10
Kentucky Vs UT: UT 21-3
Vandy Vs UT: I don't have the heart to post it.

Can this season get any worse? I think it can...

UT 24 Memphis 20
UT 19 Vandy 20
UT 17 UK 30

Any last ounce of air in our gut is knocked out by Vandy, leaving the door open for Kentucky to blow us out. Close game, but UK pulls away in the 4th quarter with an interception return for a TD and a punt return for a TD. Deja Vu???

UT 24 - Memphis 13
UT 18 - Vanderbilt 15
UT 23 - Kentucky 17

Some people probably think this is optimistic but I am actually playing it pretty conservative. I think there is a good chance for us to blow-out any or all of these teams if we can click just a little. None of these teams have the come-back potential of Notre Dame and none of them has much if a defense. :peace2:

A loss with Vandy maybe the final downfall of CPF. Vandy will not be a pushover for the Vols. Their players are alot more hungry and disciplined than ours.

Memphis gives up an average of 25 points per game in CUSA. They have lost to both Ole Miss (6-10) and UAB (20-37). Memphis passing offense is 108th in the NCAA. They are a 1-trick pony. The Vols win this homecoming game 28-10.

Vanderbilt gives up an average of 28 points per game. Their biggest claim to fame this season is "almost" beating Florida. They "almost" beat South Carolina too. They do well passing the ball but are rated 87th in rushing. Vols win 31-16.

Kentucky sucks, pure and simple. Louisville is way overrated, so I put no stock in the close game during week 1. UK gives up 33 points per game. Vols win 35-3.
