Predictions say a #4 seed in the NIT

I think they would be up for playing in the NIT. It's a young team who needs the experience. I would like to keep balling if I was on the team.

The key words Young Team
If this was a team with 4 or 5 Seniors they may just go through the motions. I've seen teams close to making NCAA & miss and older players are just done with it.

I think even if Tennessee loses the NIT would still invite a 17-15 Tennessee team.

The NIT has actually gotten tougher more recently because there are some teams that are automatically invited. If you won your conference regular season but lost in the tournament, then you are automatically invited. The NCAAT committee also lists its last four out, and those teams become the top 4 seeds in the NIT. Not saying that UT won't get invited, but in some years, the numbers shrink.

Purdue is 16-15 and NIT Bracketologies have them as a #1 Seed

Yup and seeding will change quite a bit based on results from conference tourneys. Sadly I see this as best case scenario. We have a much better chance at a multiple game run in the NIT than in the big dance. More games=more experience next year

I guess a #4 seed probably means only one home game is likely unless upsets put them against a lower seed in round 2 or if there's a venue conflict at a higher seed's place. A #3 seed enables a possible 2nd game in the TBA. If TN survived to a third game it would almost certainly be a road game.

It depends if the players actually care or not. I’ve seen too many teams get in the NIT and you can tell they would prefer to be on Spring Break. Not sure what this years team would do if they get in
